Yep, you can fill out DS160 any time. I would have the foreign fiancé start scrambling together birth certificate and police records seeing as these can take some time in most countries

Hey quick question for all of you that responded to RFE's... did you send your responses via overnight Express mail? Or did you use the slow snail mail envelope that they provide? I'm responding to me RFE probably tomorrow, and I'd definitely prefer to use Express mail if they'll accept it!

My opinion: if you send it express mail on a friday it's kinda pointless because they don't even work again til Monday. If you use the "flat rate" envelope (it only costs $5.75) it's 2 day shipping and they'll have it by monday if you send it out tomorrow. it's up to you though! i know express is pricey! if you sent it on a monday or something i'd say express is worth it, but not sending it on a friday. good luck!!

According to the info, the police certificate takes 10 days and is only valid for 30 days. So it might be better to hold off until we get a letter and an interview scheduled.

Oh yeah, for sure. From what I've seen, they tend to range between 6-12 months validity but if it's only 30 days for you guys, by all means hold off.

I used overnight express (USPS Priority 1 Day) and they received it the following day at 11am and then my status changed to receive later day. It was worth it for me, since they got it and acknowledged it and could possibly be working on my file right now. They were only needing my passport picture and my RFE they even had already assigned my fiancée her Alien# so I hope that's an indication that we are on the cusp of being approved soon.

Thanks for the responses! Good point shellymarie about overnight being a waste on Friday. I'll probably use the flat rate 2-day shipping since Saturday counts as a day for the post office!

We have the DS160, DS-230, DS-156, DS-157, DS-156K, and the I-134 completed.

Frankfurt doesn't want the police certificated to be older than 6 months, but my fiance won't be in Italy after July, so he will get him before he leaves since he will need to get it translated and we are hoping he won't have to get a new one.

The medical he will do after the NOA2.

He has everything else since he needed to have other documents for his student visa that he had awhile back.

Got my RFE in the mail today, it was kind of what I figured, IMB. I scoured VJ and found similar cases, but I'm still not exactly sure how to respond. I reached back out the Elena's Models again, hoping to get a little more formal statement of why they are not an IMB instead of just an email saying they aren't. I checked the box that they were NOT an IMB on the I-129F, but they are stating that I did. I saw where others had that too, so I'm not different there. I obviously don't have a consent form since it's not an IMB. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Here is the RFE:

You indicated that you met the beneficiary through the services of an International Marriage Broker (IMB). You stated that you met the beneficiary through Elena's Models. This website is considered to be an International Marriage Broker as it is a business that charges fees for providing dating, matrimonial, matchmaking services, or social referrals between United States citizens and foreign nationals. Therefore, you are required to submit a copy of the signed written consent form that the International Marriage Broker obtained from the beneficiary, Tetiana..., authorizing the release of her personal contact information to you.

We sent via express mail and then received the text the day it was received. In my opinion, if nothing else, there is an outside chance it might show the recipient how anxious we are for the NOA-2.... So why not send reply overnight.
