Hi VJ!

I haven't posted before but wanted to say we got our NOA-2 yesterday (May 7.)

NOA-1 was April 9.

For those who asked, we just got error messages checking case status on the USCIS website the entire time. If I logged in, I could see a "last updated" date that said April 20 right up until we got our NOA-2 notice. I hadn't created an account before the 20th so I don't know what it looked like before that.

It seems like notices are going out around 8pm or 8:30pm PST which is 11pm or 11:30 for me. I was staying up late just to see if there were any changes so I am looking forward to a good sleep tonight!

Now...what the heck do we do next?

Sadly I'm thinking the exact same thing. A couple of weeks ago I was hopeful that we'd get our NOA2 in early May. Now I'm really thinking we'll be very lucky to receive it by the end of May.

I was thinking we would have ours last week or this week. I'm also wondering if Ukraine petitions are slower for some reason, I see someone else with an NOA1 of 3/30 and still doesn't have NOA2.

If I don't log into USCIS I get an error, if I log in I can see my case was touch on 4/14, but it has no message. I guess it could be a lot worse, we could be in Texas. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Just a reminder that the NOA1 date is not the ultimate indicator of when you'll get your NOA2! The listed processing dates on VJ are good as a rough guide, but remember every case is different, and therefore will take different amounts of time to process. It's totally normal for people with a later NOA1 date than you to get their NOA2 before you.

Good Morning Everyone! Happy Monday! :energy:

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing, and if there are any new updates from anyone! Ahhh this is all so nervewrecking and exciting at the same time! Hearing people's updates and stuff really helps to keep me going!

P.S. Sorry for being a pain...I know I've already asked about this, and I appreciate the responses! But I was just wondering if anyone else in this chat (April 2015 filers) submitted their letter of intent with a scanned signature instead of an original, or am I the only one? I was just hoping that if anyone else has, if you could share your results with me when you get them (If you get and RFE, or if you are able to sneak on through). I know every case is different! I just have huge knots in my stomach waiting to see if I'm going to get an RFE or if there's hope that maybe I'll sneak through too. My fiance has already mailed me the originals, and I should have them in a couple weeks, so I'll be set in case I get an RFE. I'm just kicking myself for overlooking this! :bonk:

Thanks again, and I hope everyone has a great week! :dancing::thumbs::dance::lol:

Good Morning!

I submitted my letter of intent and other forms with my fiancé's scanned signatures too. I have a friend who has successfully gone through the entire K1 process and he also used scanned signatures and got no RFEs. From everything that I have read on VJ forums I have yet to see anyone who has received an RFE for scanned signatures.

Thanks for your reply! That's so awesome! Can I ask, with yours and your friend's...did you all submit a notarized copy? And/or was it printed in color with blue ink? I didn't even think of those two options, until I started reading around on this site...The one I submitted wasn't notarized and was just printed in black and white, so at first glance, it's pretty noticeable that its a scanned copy.

In another forum I posted in, a girl commented that a couple weeks ago she got an RFE for using a scanned signature. Instead of sending the original back with the RFE, she sent in a photo of her fiance holding the original letter with the RFE and they accepted that! haha! I know it's not a huge deal to get an RFE for these things...I'm just dreading any delays.

I'm so hoping you and I are as lucky as your friend was! Keep me posted! :)

I'm just praying that the CSC continues to pump out those approvals at a fast rate!

And yes, I've got my fingers crossed for that too! Lets go CSC! :dancing: lol!

Hi all,

I've sent black and white scanned copy, not notarized, too! I've read on a Russian blog on K1 that a quite a few people do it and it's been fine as long as the copy is legible. Hopefully it should be fine. :)

My biggest fear is that I written "met online" in my statement on how we met. I had originally written the whole "RPG gaming chat room" in, but decided to cut it as "gaming" could throw somebody off.. now I'm worried if they'll think that "online" means "dating site / international broker" and give me an RFE for that, grr! However, from what I've seen here even the RFEs are quite fast at CSC!

Hi! Thanks for the info!! Fingers crossed for all of us! :)

There's a chance that they may send an RFE for "met online." Did you include any other details besides "met online"? I think they might need clarification on that, only because they want to make sure it's not the international broker thing. But like you said, even if they do request it, it's likely that once you provide them the information, CSC will process it pretty quickly! I would just have an updated/more detailed statement already written and ready, in case they request it, you can just send it right over without any further delays.

Good luck! :)

It isn't Ukraine.. I received NOA2 on 5/7, NOA1 was 4/13.

Good luck!

okay, so now I am a little worried. With the letter of intent, there was only my original signature......not the beneficiary's. I sent the noa1 in before I discovered this website and the government instructions only ask for the petitioner's signature. Hopefully I will not get an RFE.

This is a great website with so much useful information but once in awhile if I spend too much time looking at posts, it just makes me more worried that we didn't submit something that we should have. I will keep you all posted!

Hey David! I'm the same way, I love this site...but I have to actively stop myself from going on it sometimes because it gives me anxiety.

Here's the thing...I called USCIS the other day to see if the letter of intent had to have an *original* signature from the beneficiary. I was told yes, scanned won't be accepted. However, as I'm sure you've read, a lot of times a scanned signature is accepted (but that's not a guarantee).

However, in your situation, no letter at all from the beneficiary, or if there is a letter and it's not signed by the beneficiary, it will likely generate an RFE.

I'm sorry! But usually they process RFE's fairly quickly once they receive the requested info! In the meantime, I'd recommend having the beneficiary mail you a copy with the original signature, just in case they ask for it. Good luck and PLEASE keep us posted!
