Can I if it hasn't been the 4-5 months they estimate on their website??

It' won't hurt and will give you an idea about the stage of your case. Just tell them you wonder why there is not status of your case on their website. I suggest this because according to csc timeline here they are approving cases sent by the end of march.

I definitely have too much time on my hands (even though I am doing this at work, LOL), but does anyone know if there is a particular time of the day that they send out the electronic NOA1 notifications ?? Do they do them all at the end of the day, or does it just seem to be random times?

Thanks.

Thanks Nadine. I will breath a huge sigh of relief when I see that it is California and (hopefully) not Texas.

Hi David, my F sent our petition on April 1st, they got it April 2nd (overnight delivery) check was cashed April 3rd and out first notification was by sms and email on April 6th around 5pm (Colombia time).

I hope your case was routed to CSC :)

I think I was one of those people with Texas Center listed (though I could have sworn I've already tried removing it from my timeline!). Does VJ assign that to you automatically based on your location when you register? If so, asking people to update and leave it blank *until* they receive he first NOA is fighting an uphill battle. Maybe the defaulting logic should be changed to in fact leave the service center blank if we can no longer be sure?

Do not worry naire37....you just joined this Forum and none of us can be expert at all of this from the get go.

You have to understand that most of them have been waiting for MONTHS...and they literally became certified in all the K-1 formalities in the meantime.

Benefiting from their knowledge is great for us newbies...but getting mean with us about little things like this is a little too much.

I mean to be honest...I thought there was a service center in every state just 3 weeks ago :D

I am pretty sure VJ does not assign it automatically based on the location...I think you do insert the SC in there yourself.

Good luck and I hope you here from the USCIS soon!

I apologize if my timeline is messing things up, mine kept forcing me to choose a service center and if not would default to Texas. I changed it to California because that's what I want and hope it will come true lol. I try to click the blank box and it will post Texas once I save!

Yeah, my timeline also keeps defaulting the service center to Texas when I leave it blank and save. And I don't want to jinx it by setting it to California before I know for sure! I'm sorry it messes up the statistics, but since I don't know for sure I think setting it to California would also be messing up statistics, only the opposite way.

I feel bad for people who have been stuck waiting for Texas for many months, and am mentally prepared to join their ranks, but only once I know for sure.
