correct me if i'm wrong here.....

I recently received the email from the NVC the "Welcome letter" and I'm following the 6 steps that said on the letter.

1. Choice an agent : which i did already and i put myself as an agent since I'm the petitioner

2. Pay fees: so I pay the affidavit of support which is only available to pay.

whats gonna be my next step???

so i just have to wait 15 days for the NVC to process my payment before I can pay and able to fill out the applicant information?

is the applicant information is same as visa application?

3. submit visa application form. for this one yah just wait right?

4. Collect financial documents

5. Collect supporting documents

- so for this both step 4 & 5 i guess i can start gather all the documents i need right?

- I already fill out the form I-864EZ in that case on the obtain financial evidence i don't need to do all of that unless i completed the form I-864EZ right?

here's the link: http://travel.state...._Documents.html

6 submit to NVC

Thank you in advance

We are doing the CR-1, the directions appear to be the same. The order many go in is 1, 2, 4-5-6, then 3.

Fill out the agent form.

Pay the first fee.

Get all the financial and civil documents together listed on the welcome letter checklist. Put the package together and send it to the NVC ASAP. (I also attached the barcode sheet from my AOS, but I am not sure this is necessary as the welcome letter checklist has the same barcode.)

Once your agent form is processed..your next fee will open and shortly after that is processed your visa applicaiton will open. If they are slow about processing your agent form call the NVC to have the review it on the phone...not all the agents know how so you might have to call a couple of times.

Hi, what I did after AOS shows paid it takes about 2 to 3 days check it from time to time after that wait for one week and if the IV not yet invoice call NVC if possible to review your DS261 so that the IV will be invoice and you can pay it.

However after AOS it shows paid print out the document cover letter 2 copies and then gather all necessary documents for:

AOS documents or Financial documents:

Fill out Form I864EZ if your income is enough for your wife and if she is the only one you petition.

Tax Transcript 2011-2013

Tax return 2014

W2 2014

Certificate of employment or pay stub

xerox copy of your marriage certificate

xerox copy of your permanent card

Immigrant Visa :

xerox copy of your marriage certificate

xerox copy of your wife birth certificate

xerox copy of your wife NBI

Xerox copy of your wife passport

photographs of your wife 2 pcs

Arrange it orderly base on the document cover sheet and the put it in one envelope send it in one package after you paid the AOS and it shows paid don't wait for the IV to be invoice ...

You can send it right away after you completed the documents and after your AOS shows paid on ceac website, print the document cover sheet(this cover sheet you can only see and print this after AOS shows paid because you need to include it to your documents.

Can u please explain me about this coz i am also preparing all the docs and i just dont want to get delayed...

One more question....After how many days did NVC contacted u after ur petition was sent to NVC...???? Did u provided ur EMail to NVC or they themself sent u welcome letter email?????

Thank you

Many people do as you said.

I only sent one cover sheet and bound all the documents together in the order listed on the the check list since it says send one package. I have not received my cc yet so I do not know if following the directions will cause a delay.

It is up to you how you send it. Good luck!

Hi guys

... Good thing.. the case is moving :)

I paid the AOS fee and it is in progress... I am collecting documents but am really confused... hope you all can help ..

Do we need to send Originals or just regular Photocopies ? Somewhere I saw People who submitted photocopies got asked for original or certified copy. Iam really getting confused with originals , photocopies, and certified copy. I have the Originals with me, my wife abroad has a regular ( not certified ) photocopy of those originals. ( that she plans to take to the interview).

Anyone recently sent their docs to NVC.

And put it in one package.

2.Once it will arrive at the NVC wait for one month to generate Case # You need also to call NVC from time to time to verify if they already assign a case # for your case and then you will need to let them know about your email address to contact you electronically.

So according to ur reply what it means is that:

1. Get Case Number and IIN from NVC once ur case has arrived and provide ur email address

2. Log in to ceac.state.gov and fill the DS-261 first and at same time pay AOS fees of 120$

3. After 2-3 days once the AOS fees shows paid immediately print 2 copies of document cover sheet

4. Keep first cover sheet above ur AOS docs along with a cover letter & 2nd place before ur IV docs

and Send immediately to NVC

5. Once DS-261 is accepted call NVC and ask them to allow u to pay IV fees of 325$ and access to DS-260

6. Pay DS-260 fees and then fill ur DS-260

7. once every thing is done print the DS-260 confirmation letter as well as IV fees letter

8. Call NVC to confirm that they have all ur docs and wait until they do CC

Hi, I have some questions:

1. How long do we have to wait after paying the IV fee to be able to fill out the DS 260 form? (regards #5)

2. Why and when do we need to call NVC to confirm that they have all our documents? (regards #8)

3. Can we send all documents to the NVC before finishing the DS 260 form?

Thank you for any help.

Can you tell me what are the fields and what information required for DS-261?

I got access but I did not open yet. Can i Open it multiple time until I submit it????

correct me if i'm wrong here.....

Just google around and you will see a lot of examples for DS-261. You can always save and then come back as far as I know. However, once you have submitted, don't click 'review' the form!!
