I never got the waiver form so my knowledge is only from what I heard so far, so dont take my word on it..

I heard people who get the waiver has a chance (potential) to get a green card withought the interview, down fall for the waiver notice is that you have to wait 6 month to 1 year ish until , until you get a mail of green card or Interview Notice.

Hey guys so I called uscis today and they told me that the local office is now dealing with August 2014 filers so there's no word until February... According to the notice/receipts my case is being handled by the National benefit center (if said correctly) really worried now.. I called the military hotline since I'm military spouse... Anyone any similar experience?? They did tell me that it's 60 days since RFE... Any advice anyone???

Just got NPIW today. Not sure what the fuss is about, have EAD/AP so I can work. I'll just see when the green card arrives in the mail.

So i got a possible interview waiver today - is this a good or bad thing?

Depends on how you view it, are you an optimist or pessimist? :P

Good news is, you might have a chance to obtain a Green Card without an interview :D (Chance, this is not guaranteed, therefore the word potential..)

Bad news is, you have to wait extra time compared to people who get interview notice..from 6 month to 1 year ish

So i got a possible interview waiver today - is this a good or bad thing?

From what I've gathered, providing you don't get called for interview after all:

No interview

Takes longer (as of recently, anywhere from 9 to 12+ months from filing... it's all over the place, there are people from Oct/Nov that are getting approved and then there are April 2014 people still waiting)

If it takes over a year, you have to redo your medical

If it takes over a year, you need to renew your EAD/AP (and remember to start doing so 120 days before your current card expires)

Some things when you get GC can affect:

Some jobs require LPR status

School tuition

If you want to become a citizen, the clock starts when you get your GC

Can't get a conventional mortgage with good rates

So depending on if any of these things apply or matter to you, it can be good or bad. :)

And then some of the bad feelings for NPIW come from NPIW were usually only given out to K1s, so not only are K1s the bottom of the barrel when it comes to interviews, NPIW have to wait even longer.

confusing....

I just received an email and an update on my case status stating that post office returned EAD notice to USCIS because they could not deliver it. I'm just confused what would be the notice all about since i received my EAD approval notice and the combo card already 2 weeks ago.

So after waiting 10days after recieving ead, i was still told at the ssn office that i couldnt be verified so ssn would take 4eeeks. Smh.

We applied for the SS today. Were you told it would take 4 weeks at that same moment? Or later because your EAD couldn't be verified?
