Got an SMS just now that my case status has been updated and much to my surprise when I get to check it on their website that a new card is being produced! What a coincidence because I just sent them a case inquiry a few minutes before their SMS update. What a relief from the anxiety of waiting for 6 mos after receiving the NPIW letter! Whew! My fellow April 2015 filer, just hold on tight and I'm sure your GC's are on its way. Good luck everyone! It feels like its another birthday present for me though it was a bit late. Well, better late than never!

Congrats!

ANYONE IS STILL WAITING FOR THE GREEN CARD INTERVIEW??

It's been since July of last year when my husband got the EAD and he's been working now. We still have yet to hear or gotten any letter in regards to our status. I checked online and apparently the AOS status hasn't been updated at all since the EAD card delivery in July.

Taking so long!

Dear April filers:

So after 11months from filing date, I received an email yesterday that my case has been approved - I had received RFE just after the interview in oct to provide more proof of bonafide, I sent in the documents I could come up with on jan5th, I waited 2 months with no response from USCIS and made an info pass on the 15th and yesterday I got the approval alert.

I want to thank each an everyone on here for your input & suggestin when the going was tough and for those still waiting for response and/or going through this nerve racking process, do not relent because a good news is coming your way.

I also want to say thank you so much Vj for such a wonderful forum with rich content that has helped alot of people like myself in finding the happiness they seek by uniting with their loved ones.

Bless..

Glad to hear, CONGRATS!!!

I hope that all fellow April '15 filers have received their GC's or updated news by now. The only news I have to share is, my (5 year old K-2/soon to be 6) daughter is fluent in the English language which is simply amazing and my wife (K-1) has adjusted just fine. We are expecting a baby boy in August - God willing and I couldn't be happier. :)

All the best and hope that everyone had a Happy Easter!!!

Still waiting on an update for my son's green card, have not heard anything since we received the NPIW letter back in July 2015. Philadelphia is way to slow at processing things. It really sucks that this is the only thing that is holding us back from getting him a passport and filing N600 since he will derive citizenship through me. I suppose I only have myself to blame for doing everything so backwards and not researching as well in years past :bonk:

To answer your question...

You are suppose to apply for the ROC (Removal of Conditions/10 year GC) within 90 days of your 2 year GC expiring. You can continue to work during ROC since once the I-751 petition is received by USCIS, you should receive a letter that entitles you to a 1 year extension to be a legal resident to the US. You can use that letter for any travel needs, DMV purposes, work related matters, etc. :)

Take care,

-Gera

Slight correction to the above so that it makes more sense, LOL... (Sorry)

You are suppose to apply for the ROC (Removal of Conditions/10 year GC) within 90 days of your 2 year GC expiring. Should make more sense now. Added notes in parenthesis.

Hi All, I am one of those unlucky ones with no green car yet.

I have a question. Is it okay or safe to travel back to Philippines even my ead/ap combo card is about to expire on May 31? It is a business trip but also will extend few days for personal vacation. I have applied for renewal already but doubt it will be approved before my trip which will be this last week of April and back here in the US on May 2nd.

AOS Journey:

March 30 - AOS/EAD/AP sent

April 2 - USCIS received

April 9 - NOA1

May 6 - Biometrics

May 7 - Case is ready for interview

May 21 - Request for EAD expedite

May 26 - contact congressman for EAD expedite

June 1 - EAD card in production

June 2 - EAD approved

June 6 - EAD/AP combo card received

Not sure if anyone still follows this thread or is still waiting from the 2015 April filers, just wanted to update on my son's case. Applied his I130 and I485 April 2015. Received NPIW in July 2015. January 2016 his file was transferred from the National Benefits center to our local office in Philadelphia. Contacted Senator and Ombudsman in March 2016. July 2016 Ombudsman finally got back to us and told us my son should have an interview notice within 30 days, a week later we had a notice, interview was scheduled for Sept 21. Interview went smooth, immigration officer had no idea what to ask my son so he came out and called me in to ask me questions. I felt like I was doing my green card interview all over again. He asked me if my husband and I were still married. Asked me for my green card which I had to tell him I did not have it anymore since I naturalized in March 2016. Told me everything looked good and we were done. Thankfully he was not asked to redo his medical which had expired back in March. Received the welcome notice today and will probably receive his green card in the next couple of days since it was mailed out Friday. I am so happy and still trying to believe we are officially done with immigration (he derives citizenship through me), it was a long, stressful journey and hopefully our case was the last to finish in this thread. :dancing:
