Hi yall!

I have not been really active on VJ, but I just want to update our case here: We filed for AOS on 04/27/15, got an RFE for additional tax return stuff, and eventually got our interview in Houston, TX today. My case was approved within 10 mins! We were interviewed by a very laid back and friendly field officer who even cracked some jokes during the interview. The only thing he wanted to see from us was our IDs. No major questions, just stuff like where and when we met, when we married, what we did for living...

He didn't stamp my passport but said we would receive the green card in 2 - 3 weeks.

The whole process was 7 months long. Thank God we made it thru. Thanks VJ for all the good info, and good luck yall! :)

Congs David,

Can you tell me when did you get your interview had been scheduled? I guess in the first week of November right? Now you can go to Vietnam to enjoy the Vietnamese New Year coming!

Glad I have found this thread! Mine was received on the 17th of April. As of the moment, all I am waiting for is the conditional GC since I have received a letter re: PFIW on July. How bout you guys, any updates??

Hello. Has anyone from the Washington DC office (who received a NPIW letter) received a green card yet? We filed in late April and received the NPIW on 7/24, with no news since then. I'm impatiently waiting since we would love to go visit my husband's family for New Year's and extended vacation. :)

Same here I am still waiting for an update. Haven't heard from them since July. Due to agony, I sent them a case inquiry.

I did the same! No information since July, also sent them a case inquiry in November and heard back from them that "due to high number of applications..."

Really frustrating....

Exactly! Well I have checked on their website and they are processing those who have filed on February. I guess I have to wait for a few more months. Wheeeew! Likewise, I guess it also depends on your location too plus the volume of applications that they are handling. ???

According to the USCIS website, people who filed in April should be processed in December.

Does anyone have experience with multiple case inquiries? ;-) I am thinking of doing it again...

Thanks! This is actually Thao lol my husband didn't prepare the paperwork so just me doing all the AOS stuff :)

I know that my local field office here in Houston was really busy that we waited from July til November to get our interview to be scheduled. But.... that could be beneficial for us. The office that interviews us told us that because they had been so busy, they didn't really have time to interview people applying for removing green card conditions. So yay, we could skip that second interview in 2 years :)

And if I don't see you around til Vietnamese new year, Cody, happy new year to you :)

As of Sept 30 they are working on applications dated March 23rd. However, it looks like in the period from April-June they received 3,148 additional applications and only processed 2,442 putting them a further 706 applications behind. Given that they complete around 800 a month - we should expect another month delay.

We also have Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays... a period where most USCIS staff take long vacations....

I had my interview to adjust from K1 yesterday afternoon. They didnt make a decision in the interview but I woke up to an approval notice this morning, so it took less than 24 hours to approve it, yay! Free from USCIS for 1 year and 9 months.
