Yeah, I don't get it either. I guess it makes people feel better that their case is moving though.

The DS-160 just needs the SRC number. Your medical (at least in Vietnam) *does* need your case number though. I think that's the only place I've run into so far where I've needed it.

Hi guys! So the DS 160 asks for the SRC number? I thought I need to put the embassy case number. Thanks!

We had our interview today and passed he has to pick up his passport with the visa on June 9th. :) seems like a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

since monday my case status on ceac website says READY;but we didn't receive packet 3 yet.please what should we do now?we didn't fill DS 160 yet..thks.good luck to everyone and congrats to all who got approved.

It's the SRC number. If you look at the little help question mark next to the box, I think it actually gives an SRC number as an example.

SRC = Receipt

HCM (vietnam for example) = case

There wasn't to many questions just the basic when did you meet and how did you meet your fiancé, where does she work. That's pretty much it.
