I have a quick question. Will the USCIS case status update page always be updated when the send the case to the NVC? I received my email NOA2 last week, and the hardcopy yesterday. The hardcopy says "we've sent your case to the National Visa Center blah blah blah" but I expected that its not actually shipped until the case status changes to show its been sent.

Any thoughts are appreciated :)

Yeah mine took 9 days to send from the TSC to the NVC and another 9 days for it to physically show up IIRC. Then when your petition is forwarded to the embassy, they'll get an electronic version much sooner than they will receive the physical copy (2 and 7 days for me respectively); this is kinda like how you received your NOA1 and NOA2 electronically versus the physical copy that you received in the mail. Your CEAC status will change to READY once the embassy receives your electronic copy, but depending on the embassy you won't be able to schedule an appointment immediately after the status is changed to ready. It just depends. Moscow for example MAKES YOU WAIT (those frickers!) until they receive the paper copy, forward it to their immigration unit and someone physically and manually enters it into their database. Only then do they send you an email with scheduling instructions. But not all embassies are that way, so investigate to see how yours works.

Either way you'll need to do the DS-160 and pay the fiance visa interview fee ($265). You might as well start on the DS-160; and be prepared, it is a royal pain in the a$$.

ps-one other thing kaisara: don't be alarmed if your petition isn't sent in a week or so. There was another filer who's petition was approved on the same day as mine, but their petition didn't leave the TSC until *18* days later. Yup, *18* days. Wbeem's by contrast left in 4. It is HIGHLY variable.

9/8/14 - I129F petition sent to the USCIS lockbox via USPS
9/11/14 - Petition received @ USCIS lockbox
9/11/14 - NOA1 Email and text message received
9/15/14 - NOA1 Official notice date
9/18/14 - NOA1 hard copy received
12/9/14 - "Updated" likely because of website repairs, like many of us received
4/20/15 - NOA2 text and email (221 days)

4/29/15 - Sent to the NVC (9 days)

5/8/15 - Arrived at the NVC (9 days)

5/13/15 - Left the NVC (5 days)

5/15/15 - Electronic version arrived at the embassy (2 days)

5/20/15 - Paper copy arrived at the embassy (7 days)

6/4/15 - Status changed to AP (which meant that we could schedule the interview)

6/16/15 - Medical

6/17/15 - K1 APPROVED!!!!

6/30/15 - Passport and sealed envelope delivered via courier

Thank you so much. Yeah, I'm hoping that it can get out of there soon - I will scream if it takes 18 days ! lol. Really trying for a late July interview as our wedding is set for Sept 12th. We have a lawyer, and Michael has already completed a paper copy of the DS 160 months ago lol - I asked what we could do while waiting. The lawyer will enter that for us. He has also obtained his police reports. The biggest thing will be getting the papers to move along - I've been gathering info on London's requirements, and you are not supposed to schedule the medical until the embassy has received the case file. However, I know it can be done if you have your NVC info - so right now we are at a standstill until it at a minimum gets there :)

kaisara - another gaming couple! Awesome! Haha. We both do totally still play :) We are on Misha server. How about you two? I've been playing WoW ever since it was released ten years ago, with a few breaks here and there. I just love that game. I could level characters over and over again. Haha.

Finally found this thread.

We were approved on May 15, and we didn't get any notification that it's been sent to nvc, 12 days already. Should we call uscis or nvc now to know about our files location?

Yeah, my guy actually scheduled today with just electronic copy in hand in London. We have heard from numerous K-1s that if you have the screen shot of the CEAC website saying "READY" they will take it, still hoping we have actual letter by June 5th when it is, though!

Also, don't get upset if you are having issues with CEAC- ours said did not return any results until the day they entered it into the system 11 days after it left NVC :)

Unfortunately, as Av8or1 said, it can vary hugely. They send them in batches so ours didn't actually get sent until quite some time after we received actual NOA2.

You can call NVC, but be prepared for a wait, they were always nice to me, though, in the 15 times i called them.

My status was actually eventually updated on USCIS as sent to the department of state, think mine was also about 12 days

Thank you, Jktigerfan.

For now we will just wait for case was sent to nvc notification. I hope it is soon.

Is anybody else getting the same notification from the NVC over and over again? I've received maybe 8 notifications saying that the NVC has received and forwarded our application. I get 2 in the mail every other day. Maybe it's tied to checking status online.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've received 8 letters from NVC so far and they also say the same thing but dated and mailed on the different dates! I've only checked ceac once and received an email from the embassy 3 days later. I think they're training on real accounts LOL!

I too, can finally join! I'm so excited to get our case sent to NVC so we can get this process going.
