So should I ask my fiance to gather the police certificates and go through the medical exam? I should've gotten an email with instructions with all the paperwork that he needs for the interview before I started that. I am a bit thrown off.

My fiancée was suppose to also but we did not get any email with instructions. Once it says ready on the CEAC website you can go ahead and begin by completing the ds-160

Check you country's VJ page and see if there is a certain time frame that the paperwork needs to be from. Some countries have rules about when they want you to get the certificates and medical. For instance, our medical had to be within ten days before (although they let us do 11 becuse of appt availability) his interview and certificates had to have been issued within a month before. You can probably start assembling some docs now or just make a checklist of them!

Try emailing the embassy if you can find an address- they may be able to tell you when to expect the packet, or could just email it to you in their response.

Interview date has been set ? happy but extremely nervous!

Hi. We are also going through the embassy in Santo Domingo, I wonder if you can choose the date of the interview or the embassy gives you a date. What is the range of months to do it (earliest or latest)

Because TSC was taking so long to approve our petition (8 months and some) we planned a trip to south America for all of July, so now we are hoping that we can get an interview either in early June or August.

Thanks for your help

You get to pick the date online and I can already tell you June is practically full and they haven't opened July yet.

Got letter of confirmation from NVC yesterday and today, I woke up to an email from US embassy in Ankara with packet 3 instructions! Luckily, I've already done my I-134 in advance and had my fiancé get police report, and original birth certificate. So, packet 3 is ready to send from our end. Next is Dr.'s report, which must be done 30 days prior to interview date. So, after filling out DS-160 electronically today and scheduling appointment, we will schedule the doctor's appointment. The embassy wants him to bring the medical report at interview and original copies of birth certificate and police report. Yes, get 3 copies of everything! Things are moving fast! Good luck everyone! Thanks for reading my post :)

Thank you guys! I will probably call the embassy on Monday to see what's next. Or just ask my fiance to call the mesical center to ask if they need anything for the appointment or the case

number would be enough. I am still hoping for an email with some directions though.

Normally, the ambassy will send you packet 3 with all the directions.

But you can begin to prepare the affidavit of support and proof of support and proof of relationship.

I called NVC again this morning, and guess what?, this time they gave me our case number. The case has not been sent to Santo Domingo yet but I am going to try to fill out the online form.

Thanks caro/Henry for your info. if June is full, I think I will wait for August. I do not want to cancel our July trip to South America. This is going to be our first trip together. I will try to schedule an early August date and hope the consulate gives him the visa before my trip back to the U.S. on Aug 31. My dream is to travel home together.

Good luck!

So the embassy is supposed to send you an email with instructions! I was questioning that step since our case was sent to the embassy on May 13th and I haven't gotten any notification from either the NVC or the embassy. So I guess I will just wait for that email to start the medical exam. Thank you!
