I'm having the same issue its so frustrating. My case was sent 5/13 and when I search I get nothing! I get that my search didn't have any results. I call NVC they say call DR I call DR and they said give it to the end of the week. I'm staring to get worried.

I truly Understand what is even more frustrating is that NVC sent my case to the wrong embassy so I am waiting for the wrong embassy to receive it and then take their time to send it to the right embassy *tears*

I think this warrants a thread of its own so that it can easily be found by others who have had similar problems. It has happened before, and it may be helpful to get some information and guidance from others who have experienced the same difficulties.

I receive an RFE today. Almost 8 months after I receive the noa1. Now I have to wait for the actual letter to arrive so I could see what else they need in order to get approved. Good luck every one, this process really sucks.

Hi guys! I just called the NVC to check on our case status and the agent told me that it has been sent to the embassy. I was surprised that I never received any notification from the NVC that pur case has been sent. Do they usually send notifications? Will the embassy email me with the directions for the interview? Thanks!

I haven't received a single notification (mail or email) from NVC yet and our packet is already at the embassy. I called them from time to time to check status. A representative said they'd send me some notice.

Given that our form is at the embassy, should I be expecting some sort of letter stating what I need to provide for the interview? I don't want to keep having to call to find out every single detail.

Timeline (yyyy-mm-dd)

  • 2014-09-04: I-129F received by USCIS
  • 2014-09-08: Received NOA1 notification via email
  • 2015-04-16: uscis.gov status updated to approved! (219 days since NOA1)
  • 2015-04-20: Received I-797 NOA2 in mail (Notice date 2015-04-16)
  • 2015-04-29: USCIS sends application to NVC
  • 2015-05-07: NVC receives packet
  • 2015-05-13: Package left NVC for consulate
  • 2015-05-18: Consulate receives package

Exactly! Same thing here. When I called and got the new case number the agnet told me that I would receive a notification but I guess not. My friend went through the fiance visa process and she recieved an email from the embassy saying that they have reieved the case and a list with the required documentation for the interview. I am not sure how I am supposed to know for sure that it is indeed there and that I should ask my fiance to start going through the medical exam. Should I call the embassy and keep asking?

Same here. I think this whole group of us went to the NVC around the same time and were sent to various embassies from 13-15.

Our embassy told us to call back every couple of days and check. They said that they would send an email, but considering how reliable NVC emails have been ( didn't get any), I think I'll just keep calling :)

Called the NVC earlier today. They received my case yesterday and gave me my case number. They said it should be at the Ho Chi Minh embassy very soon.

This is moving so much faster than the NOA process. *whew*
