Hello, I called NVC this evening and was told they have my case in "Pre-Sort," does anyone know what that actually means?

I realize I am a November TSC filer and this is the September thread, but I don't have a lot of company with NOA 2 from the November TSC group.

I did but the rep told my the online site was having some difficulty and that i probably wasn't going to e able to check anything online tonight.

Does anyone know where or what website i can use to check my case status?

Also they mentioned there was an error in DOB that i thought USCIS had taken care of but obviously didn't they said i could fix it at the embassy but im wondering will it be an issue...

jairo,

a few more questions for you.

you said you already paid the visa fee.

where and how? I thought we pay the visa fee through the ds-160 application. no?

through this link?

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-co/iv/signup/iv

or is that just for scheduling the interview?

that website says we need to wait for the appointment letter and instructions.

is that true or can we go ahead and try to schedule.

also what is the link where we can track our case from here on out now that we have our

case number?

thanks for any insight you can give, I also looked at the other Colombian timelines and it looks like we can get scheduled for the interview much faster than other embassies.

Hey Andrew, yeah I paid the visa fee through that link, you register first (you're gonna need nicela's passport number, BGT and ds-160 confirmation #), then you are going to select where you want the visa to be delivered, after that you can finally schedule the interview and set the other appointment for the fingerprints.

I know it's gonna take another couple weeks to get packet 3 and 4 (instructions) but since we want to schedule the interview by the end of June we can still wait for that.

This is the link to track the case: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx I typed our bgt # but only this message came out: " Your search did not return any data" Maybe we have to wait a few more days. You can also call the NVC by Friday and ask when your case is going to be sent to Bogota. Once you know the case is received by the embassy you can send them an email letting them know that you want to get packets 3 and 4., so you can speed the process.

email: IVBogota@state.gov

Subject: instruction packet.

Petitioner:

Date of Birth:

Applicant:

Date of Birth:

Then you can ask them to send you the packets.

If you wait for them to call Nicela it's gonna take more time.

I haven't completed the ds-160 yet but I used the application # to register in the other website.

Yeah, most of the colombian timelines I've been checking get their interview schedule almost 2 months or less after their noa2 was approved.

So after almost 2 hours of waiting on the phone for an agent at NVC, the agent told me that my case is in the system and gave me the new case number. I asked him if he knows how long we would need to wait for the case to be sent out to the embassy and he said that it is more of a come and go process so soon enough they will send it out. So I am excited :) Waiting was tough though.

Yeah, I completed the ds-160 last night and I printed the confirmation page. I'll keep looking every day and I let you know if our cases are being sent to Bogota. If the NVC sends the files next week is not too bad.

Did you select Immigrant Visa? Here? https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Hi guys! When do you complete the DS-160 form? Do you do it once you receive a notification from NVC? Thanks.

You can start to complete it at any time. You can save it for up to 30 days online. You set up a security question and make a note of the reference number which is generated as soon as you open up the form.
