Okay bit off topic but I paid for AOS online and it cleared as paid in 24 hours but the IV still won't let me pay for it. Are they waiting for the AOS documents first?

I have a similar situation. We were approved on October 9th and they said they sent the case to the Department of State today, October 21st. Hoping that it doesn't take too long to get the case number so we can start moving forward.

I called Nvc yesturday and they told me that it takes atleast 42 days for them to issue case number and sent the checklist. My case was recieved by Nvc on the 9th of October so I hope that helps

I called NVC today and they said that I have to wait 35 days before they even get the case from NSC and to not call till it's been 35 days. Then after that 4 additional weeks of processing to get a case number. Does any one else have any other information? I thought we could call NVC to find out if they received our case before the 35 days. Let me know your experiences, please. Thanks!

You can call to find out what date they received your case from USCIS. I got my case number after 13 days they received my case. A week later I got welcome letter from NVC

Yea you should contact them! There's no other way to get your case number and IIN..Sometimes they send a welcome letter but not always. After you get approved it rakes about a week for them to receive your case and then a couple more weeks to be assigned a case number. When they tell you 30-40 days, that's the most it will take not the average.

They encouraged me to keep calling if that's what I wanted and so I did!

My case was approved on the 28 of September. They received on the 9th of October and we were assigned a case number on the 23d.Hope this helps!

Thanks, appreciate it. Do you have the contact number for them, please?

Yes,it's 603-334-0700. Best time to call is when it's 7 am there.

If you call and a male voice says something like "because there's a large number of calls..." hang up,you won't get through.

When you do get through,at first they ask you to press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish.

After that they give you 7 options, the one for you is number 3. Press it if you don't want to listen to all the options.

After that they put you on hold.It usually take 30 minutes to talk to someone.

There's an app called magicJack (I use it on IOS not sure for android) that you can use to call US numbers for free using WIFI. I use that to call them.

NVC has received my petition today! How long does it normally take for them to issue the case number after receiving the petition?
