Arrrrggg what a bummer... RFE'd :(

I don't believe it has anything to do with your address change tho.... doesn't make much sense to me. It looks more like an unfortunate coincidence.

Its dumb they don't send the RFE details by email... I mean, what for? Privacy? I feel more secure in my email inbox than an old fashioned envelope traveling all over the world via snail-mail. Anyone can get their hands on that.

PLUS If they used email you would be preparing the required evidence and sending them of by now... but... it's USCIS we're talking about...

it is strange, I'm checking my mail every day and still haven't received the mailed RFE to see exactly what they want. It's been 11 days :(

We're approved but filing from abroad, so I don't expect any mail to arrive here EVER. I haven't even received NOA1 hardcopy.

You don't need NOA1 or NOA2 hardcopies unless you are requesting a K1 visa. So don't worry about those. At NVC stage, you can call NVC and ask them to send everything exclusively by EMAIL. According to VJ users it works perfectly. BUT you DO NEED to send NVC your IV and AOS packages trough regular mail (unless you qualify for "Electronic Processing" which most people don't). That's all I know for now. When I get my NVC case number and do this I'll be able to share my own personal experience on this.

Are you expecting mail abroad or inside USA?

Hi Everyone! Does anyone have any explanation for why some couples I 130 gets processed fast/short times than others? I've been doing some research, looked at couples whose apps where sent to the same center yet the processing times range from 4-8 months, even around the same timeframe. I'm a USC.

I expect to get my hardcopy NOA2 sometime next week. It took me 2 weeks to receive my hardcopy NOA1 in Australia.

Couples where the nonUSC is from the Philippines get auto-expedited because of a typhoon that happened a couple years back. If the USC is living abroad when the I-130 is filed, then sometimes their application gets auto-expedited. Plus there are occasional cases that have put in a request to be expedited and it was granted. Those are the only explanations I've seen. Otherwise it's a total mystery as why some applications are approved earlier than others.

Heres a VERY interesting and informative interview with a former USCIS adjudicator:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/adjudicator-q-and-a

It will help you understand how USCIS works inside... sort of. You can later make your own conclusions.

Not yet, we received NOA2 email last friday... USCIS does not work weekends, so, basically its been just 2 days after NOA2 for us... I was thinking of calling maybe this friday 29th or next monday 1st of june. Supossedly by then they should have got our case folder, and if we are lucky they might give me my case number.

Hmmm. Maybe I'll call tonight then. I know Monday being a holiday might have slowed things down a bit... It seems like it takes 2-3 weeks from NOA2 until when they get the case though... That's just looking through timelines.
