Yes at least three weeks from the date you got your NOA2 approved then start calling them but in the mean time prepare all the doucments required.

Here's what i have collected so far:

AOS Docs from me the Petitioner:

• Barcoded DOCUMENT COVER SHEET for Form I-864 [will be available after fees paid online]
• Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (Filled, Signed and dated)
• IRS Tax Transcript for the year 2014
• Form 1040EZ for the year 2014
• W2s for the year 2014
• IRS Tax Transcript for the year 2013
• Form 1040 for the year 2013
• W2s for the year 2013
• Letter from Current Employment
• Pay stub(s) of most recent three months from current employment

Now, from the Beneficiary:

§ Barcoded Cover Sheet for Immigrant Visa Application [will be available after fees paid online]

§ Photocopy of biographic data pages of beneficiary’s Passport

§ Two (2) Passport size Photographs of beneficiary [2 inches × 2 inches]

[ NVC Case Number, Beneficiary’s Name and Date of birth are written on back of both photographs]

§ Photocopy of Birth Certificate of Beneficiary with English translation

§ Photocopy of Marriage Certificate with English translation

That would be enough to send NVC in one package.

I am just confused which form do i have to send I-864 or I864EZ...???? This is what confusing me and i dont want to take any chances for I864 form coz even a single mistake would cost me 2 months and i dont want that....

Do any one have any idea about this..???? Guys....do post ur comments on this....

Hey everyone just received my NOA2 hard copy in the mail today. It says allow 30 days for Nvc to contact you before getting in touch with them. I hope they get in touch sooner than that.

Start calling NVC after 2 weeks or 2 and half weeks....dont wait 30 days....

Make sure u call at correct time i.e. early morning onwards...coz all time NVC number is busy.....Once u get to an operator...u r good to go....

@ dewdrop - I'm pretty sure that I-864EZ is for the petitioner only. If you have a co-sponsor then they have to use the I-864 - you cannot use the I-864Z.

If anyone else has a different response, please share...

Hello guys,

I just got approved yesterday also my PD is 02/24/2014. Concerning the I864, I noticed that the actual one has expired. Are they planning to release a new one?

Also I became an LPR only on 11/01/2013. Hence I have only 2013 transcript where I declared my foreign income. I started working the last two months in 2014 but I had arround 25k US income for 2014 during those two months. I am actually having a full time six digits salary. Will I require a joint sponsor since I just started working end of 2014? Any answer will help me prepare for the AOS package.

@ wodm - if I were you, I would absolutely get a joint sponsor....if you cannot provide 3 years of tax returns, you will need someone who can.

But i became Permanent Resident in April 2013...So how do i have 3 years tax returns..???

And for 2014 i have 31000$ income which is above the poverty guidelines.../???? Yeah...in 2013 i had just 3500$ income on my returns but for latest year i do have income above poverty lines and i also will have latest paystubs and job letter.....So i dont think that i need a joint sponser .....

and they NVC also will know that the petitioner became a permanent resident 2 years back...so how can they provide 3 years return..???

Do any of u guys r in a similar situation...????

My priority date is May 19 2014 should i wait for couple months before calling NVC for the IIN and case number?

Well...As far as i understand it's practical that how can a person file tax return for the year when he/she was not even present in US. So NVC should know this by the Alien number of the petitioner. Now, If ur total income is below the poverty guidelines then u have to submit i864a too but if u have a qualifying income which is above the poverty guidelines for last year then ur I-864 and Tax transcripts along with W2 and 1040 is enough.....

I went through the instructions of the I864 and they clearly mention that the 3 years returns is optional. I think the most important thing is to show that your actual income is stable and well above the poverty level by bringing paystubs+employee letter.

letter explaining missing one year of tax return is ok because they look for most recent year for poverty guideline. If you feel unsafe then it wont hurt to get joint sponsor. In case of joint sponsor, you will still need to write letter explaining why no tax return for 2012.

What is the contact number for NVC please? Shall I also start to contact them end of April or begining of May because our lawyer said they will contact us within 45 days time. As our priority date is getting closer do you think they will contact us before the time frame they have told us? Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.

@Habel - if you read around the VJ forums, you will see that many people were able to call NVC and get the INN and case numbers early. The advise on VJ has always been not to wait for NVC to communicate with you first. so if you want to get ahead of the game you have to be proactive. Based on what I have been reading over the past few month here on VJ, I would start calling NVC 1 week after receiving your NOA2......call once a week for the first couple of weeks - then speed it up to 2-3 times a week.

NVC number is (603) 334-0700. its busy a lot so you have to be persistent

my attitude to all this is to get your case closed as soon as possible because the VB is so unpredictable. That means if you can get your IIN number 2 weeks early, it can be the difference between getting your interview and retrogression.
