i don't really know on i-864 it says copy of recent tax transcript but you have to fill for last 3 years of income i think it is safe to send 3 years transcript and paystubs for 6 months so you can avoid more delays because if they send you another letter regarding documents then it will take another 1-2 months to review .Better safe then sorry...

Hi VJ members, can someone please help me. In my Paystub I have "Taxable Marital Status as Single" so when I submit my paystubs will this be any issue? or I should I not send the paystubs at all

Note: For the tax year 2014 I applied for an extension as I am filing as married and filing jointly so I need to get the form W7 and signed tax document from my wife so that's the reason I filed for an extension. I am going to write an letter to NVC stating that I filed an extension.

Thanks a lot for your response

I do not think martial status on paystub is that important. Paystubs are for sponsorship not for proving bonafied. There are civil documents for proving relationship and AOS documents for financial liability so do not intermingle them. Why delay on tax return. You can file as single or married filling separately would be fine too.

Thanks for the reply nilx25, Sure I will send the 6 months paystubs but I dont have paystubs from December'14 to March'15 as I was visiting my wife but I have enough income to show on my previous transcripts and current household income so I am thinking whether I need to write a letter explaining that I was in vacation with loss of pay what do u suggest?

yeah you are right I should have filed married filing separately but I already sent the documents to my tax consultant :( so I am planing to send the W2 and tax filing 1040 document and explaining them why I filed for the tax extension.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Tax return copy+w2 forms for 3 years or

Tax return 2014+w2 2014 and transcripts for 2013,2012 is ok.

If you submit copies of tax return then all w2s need to be submitted with it.

I highly suggest to send both if available but sometime if you file late returns then lot of people can not get transcript that easily so NVC always want copy. If you do not send then they will ask you to bring tax return copies at interview. If you have both then send all because it will not hurt your case.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I asked that because when I tried to request a retuen copy IRS will charge me I think $50 for each year's return. Unless if NVC/Consulat are ok with a normal 1040 filled and a W2 attached to it

http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Its free to order transcript from this website. I am not sure what cost 50 but I always get it free by mail. You need to select return transcript when you fill out form with address and everything.
