@ ajaz - I haven't gotten as far as you in the process, so naturally, please go with whatever you were given/told to do by NVC.

My check list is simply a generic guide that I got from reading other people's experiences as well as the wikis here on VJ. It was what I used to start preparing all the documents that I would need in anticipation of my case approval. I have never seen an actual NVC checklist so this is just a heads up to those who may wish to start getting their docs together before their case is approved/transferred.

But of course, I am sure that everyone here is smart enough to know that once they are contacted by NVC they should submit whatever docs that NVC is specifically asking for as it pertains to their particular family circumstance.

Best of luck on your journey and thanks for sharing your checklist.

Priority Date - December 2, 2013

USCIS -

12/02/13 : NOA1 (Priority Date)

03/24/15 : Case Transferred from VSC to CSC

03/28/15 : Hard copy of transfer received in mail

04/14/15 : NOA2 ( I-130 Approved) - finally! (informed via text on 4/16/2015)

NVC -

04/29/15 : NVC received the case (informed during phone call to NVC on 5/01/2015

05/08/15 : Case number assigned and IIN (received via phone call on 5/14/2015)

05/12/15 : NVC Welcome letter mailed

05/19/15 : NVC Welcome received in mail

05/29/15 : DS-261 Finally Available on CEAC and completed

05/29/15 : AOS bill Available on CEAC and paid (status: IN PROCESS)

Did you get a refusal notice or a request for evidence notice (RFE)? they are different things. If they are asking for additional evidence, then it doesn't sound like a refusal. Your PD is May 2014 -

Ya abg, I got case number on 05/05 and also got my NVC welcome letter but still same error message... so i will call them again on Monday.. Lets figure it out...

has any body called NVC today for the problem in their system? it is about 10 days i got case number ( and also welcome letter) and my fees are not invoiced and no access to DS260.

we called operator on friday and they said they have problem in their websites, they have sent the fee and takes time to become available!!!

1/10/2013 : We sent I130 application to chicago

3/10/2013 : Application received - Priority date

8/10/2013 : NOA1 hard copy received

26/3/2015: Case Transfered to California

2/4/2015 : I-130 Approval

5/4/2015 : NOA2 Hard Copy received

23/4/2015 : NVC recieved the case

1/5/2015 : Case number and IIN assigned (Phone Call)

11/5/2015 : DS-261 Available and completed

27/5/2015 : Both fees were paid via post

28/5/2015 : AOS and IV package mailed to NVC

6/6/2015 : Scan date - Document received by NVC

5/7/2015 : DS-260 Available and completed

6/7/2015 : Checklist ( marriage certificate from another authority- i864 ( missing tax for 2014)

16/7/2015 : our new Scan date

12/10/2015 : 2nd checklist: NVC lost the resident permit document and ask it again.

20/10/2015 : new scan date

24/11/2015: case complete

6/29/17: Email saying card was mailed on 6/28/17

6/30/17: We received the card. 

6/30/17: Waiting for ROC in 2 years (6/13/19)

Well...lot of people r suffering this ...coz there seems some kind of problem with their system....that should get fixed by wednesday...

So we all have to wait till then....Once they have ur case in their system they will add ur email but now it seems the system is not allowing to add email or any kind of info...thats why the CSR cant do anything....

Even i cant pay IV fees now..My DS-261 was revied last week and i received email last friday to pay fees....yet i cant pay fees now....

Wait for couple of days and then try ....read VJ everyday ....u will hear from someone once the system is ok with NVC....Some one will post once his/her fees is paid or getting invoiced....Good Luck

i had the case no and iin since past 2 weeks and still no welcome letter or able to login don't worry you will be able to soon


My PD is Oct 03 2013...

Your visa is almost currnet you should call and find out and complete the process as soon as possible.

Your visa is almost currnet you should call and find out and complete the process as soon as possible.

My friend I would like to finish ASAP. but they do not allow u to go further steps. Only you can keep calling them and ask for updates and requests.
