The definition of bigotry you gave pretty much says everyone is a bigot. If you are intolerant of anyone, even someone you identify as a bigot based on their religious or political beliefs and this definition, then you are also a bigot. Or did I mis-interpet this.

Disliking or not being able to tolerate an individual doesn't make someone a bigot. Disliking or not being able to tolerate an entire group based on unfair, irrational or unfounded ideology does.

I don't think so. The definition given clearly states "people", but you changed it to entire groups which is also covered by the original definition. I think the first definition fits for pretty much everyone

People does refer to both individuals and groups. I changed the wording of it because you already acknowledge that you may have misunderstood. It was clear to me.

It's one thing to have those views, another to air them publicly. If you run a customer facing business it just isn't in your self interest to invite that kind of controversy.

It doesn't justify threats of violence. The whole situation seems unnecessary

If the business owner said he used horse meat in the pizza, there would be a backlash, he would lose customer support, and he would go out of business. There would not be a gofundme account set up.

In this actual case, because of his actions, he was going to face going out of business because of diminished customer support. The difference was that he got a lot of support based solely on his discriminatory position.

I don't feel comfortable guessing at the political affiliation of those who donated. I don't know if they are liberal or conservative. I don't know if they are religious or atheist. I don't know if they are black and white. I am comfortable saying they are bigots.

That issue is that some people here have trouble understanding what they're trying to say. 'Liberal' fits their sophomoric view of the world. It's a blissful state.

"Liberals" don't have to take the wrap for what some people said anymore than any other group should. The Democratic Party did not come out and endorse the death threats so all you have are death threats from people you call liberals. You'd probably call me a liberal yet I didn't make, nor do I condone death threats against anyone. Why don't you judge liberals by what I did or didn't do?

I don't feel comfortable guessing at the political affiliation of those who donated. I don't know if they are liberal or conservative. I don't know if they are religious or atheist. I don't know if they are black and white. I am comfortable saying they are bigots.

Suppose I choose to donate because I have the belief that people should be able to serve whomever they chose? Using the word "Bigot" and then hiding behind the definition when in fact it is just being used to negatively label and malign a group you don't like seams a bit disingenuous.. Especially after you just posted about people following the exact words and not the spirit.

The Bible is clear about Homosexuality, spirit and words - if you are a believer that is what you beleive - This group is being forced to change their behavior because society has deemed one groups right to not be discriminated against is more important than another groups religious freedom. I can be on either side of that debate and not deserve to be called a bigot.

In the above case the store had a policy based on their religious beliefs. That was the store's policy, not God's. They were required to change their business practices, not their religion.

Actually, as mentioned previously in this thread, a bakery in Dearborn MI refused a cake for a homosexual wedding. No outrage, no shut-down, no gofundmesite. So I guess discrimination exists elsewhere.

I know a guy who caught a serious case of the ghey about 5 or 6 years ago while attending a show at the Berkley School Of Performing Arts. He was in really rough shape for a while and it wasn't looking good for this poor bashtahd. But after being rushed to the nearest bunker and put on a steady diet of raw meat, whiskey, and gun powder, by his RWNJ Dr he started to get better. But it wasn't until he started listening to self help tapes of Rush Limbaugh and conducting daily Bible readings, that he finally turned the corner.
