Hey Girls :star: ..

I am going through the same situation right now. Everytime I call the DOS.. all I get is "pending  ." Last week I was told it has been pending since November 18, 2006..which is 3 days after my husbands interview..and it hasn't been updated ever since!! Is that even normal??

I can't help myself.. I have to call every week (even though I get the same answer) I don't email the Cairo Embassy though, cause they are always saying the same thing...pending shemnding!! :hehe:

Chococat...don't bother paying attention to what visa "specialists" say. They don't know their azz from a hole in the ground. DOS told me that the started our checks on Dec. 15 (9 days after interview) then had another "touch" on Jan. 9. Ah who knows what all that means. DOS workers are crack heads.

Did you stop calling?..if so..how can you help it?? :crying: I call every Wednesday. But you are right, some of those people can be extremely rude just for asking a question... and then they start giving you an attitude..grr...

I call once a week whether I want to or not. The phone gets in my hands and my fingers start dialing the number...magically. I'm a glutton for punishment.

 its ok girl.. I'm sure everyone else is like that too .. I feel like calling them up right now  ..Gotta stop myself..

I agree with Amy and Jean. I think I cry just about everytime I call DOS. It's the conflicting stories that kill me. Zoloft Gang, lol...can a Prozacker join?

LOL! Prozacker here too! Actually thought I could go off the stuff once this was done....amazing how the whole process can totally mess with ya. Is there a pill that can just make you forget it all? ;)

I learned this the hard way. When your case is pending security clearance that is all they can tell you because that is also all they know at DOS. When they clear, then DOS is notified and their records are updated. The "pending" is just something you have to wait out, and it will and does eventually conclude.

wouldn't it be nice if you could just track it though, like mbp just tracked her fiance's plane the other day online? If you could log in and physically see a red dot indicationg your husband's file and SEE that it's in so and so's office and then that it moved on to such and such dept during these checks, at least that would give a wee bit of comfort that it's not collecting dust on a back shelf until someone is reminded that it's there.

Anyone heard back from CairoBound? Hopefully, everything went well with her situation. :star:

I called the DOS yesterday, and I was told the security checks had been complete Feb 12. I then emailed the Cairo Embassy, and I got this answer:

According to our records, the administrative processing was just completed. The case is currently pending the officer’s final review. Once the review process is complete, we will process the case to conclusion.

I didn't share the news with anyone at home yet, or even my husband. I think I am just gonna wait..I've seen too many people get excited, and something else comes up. I think I'll just wait and see if he gets a call...I don't know whether to take this as good news or not.

:star: Best of luck to everyone else going through AP. :star:

I emailed Cairobound yesterday but haven't gotten a response yet.

That's great that your husband's security checks are finished! It shouldn't be too much longer for you now. (F)

I remember this email. It took them about a month to complete it and then another 2 weeks to print the visa. It may move more quickly for you because it appears Cairo is changing some of their operating procedures.
