My husband had his K3 interview on November 21, 2006. At the interview they gave him a document that said 221(g) on the top of it and the only thing that was marked on it was Administrative Processing. His papers were sent from Cairo to the DOS for his security checks and everything was completed on February 1st and the papers were sent back to Cairo. When I called the DOS today to verify the date that the papers were sent, I was told there was something in the words that said he needs to wait for interview. Has anyone ever had heard of this or had is happen to them? He’s already had his interview. Would they do another interview? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You may want to call DOS again and see what response you get a second time. There is always a possibility they may request a 2nd interview, but this doesn't appear to happen often in Cairo and DOS has done the same thing to me, stating he would be attending a 2nd interview but there was never any such thing. Sometimes the visa specialists don't quite get it right and I think many here will attest to that.

I do know of some people who had to go back for another interview after providing more information (one guy I've chatted with was really raked over the coals in the 2nd interview), but I haven't heard about it happening after they had been cleared thru DOS.

I guess when you find out what those "words" are you might know more.

OR, maybe you should call again, to see if you get some different/more information?

Called DOS again this afternoon and received the same answer. This one did however say that it would be pretty silly for them to do another interview after we've passed the security checks. Guess we'll find out. I've sent the Embassy in Cairo an email so we'll have to see how they respond.

I found calling DOS to put me in mild melt downs. Seriously.... I remember a day when I called them 4 times....YES 4 times. I had received an email from the embassy that morning and I was told that Khallids checkes were done....checked my email later and there was ANOTHER email from them! This one said that his case was still pending checks. So I called DOS where they said his case was complete. Of course I get off the phone all excited. But then I started thinking more about the 2nd email and called DOS again. This time the little gal tells me that his case was pending checks. HUH? Someone just told me checks were done. So then I go in a back room at my work and freak out. Everyone at work tells me to call them back. I did and the next lady says the next check would be at least 90 days. That didn't help me out much. About a hour later God knows why, but I called them back and was told once again the case was pending checks. My advise is not to call them too much. I settled on calling once every 2 weeks which seemed to help me go into less melt downs. Maybe give it a couple weeks and call again. I know how much this can stress you out (F)

I remember that Amy. And you guys all know the circus I went through for a MONTH while they teased the visa was issued, oh no wait, they haven't issued yet, its going to be printed, oh wait we don't know where it is... dklfjasld;fj a;sdfasd

Calling DOS was about the same. In hindsight, and like Amy if I could save anyone from the emotional hell we both went through, sometimes ignorance is bliss. All you can really do is just go about your life and let things unfold, not that I accomplished that wee little goal at all. It's unfortunate that we can't rely on more hard and fast information, but truth is we can't.

You just hang in there. See what Cairo tells you and keep busy! Or vent at us!

I agree with Amy and Jean. I think I cry just about everytime I call DOS. It's the conflicting stories that kill me. Zoloft Gang, lol...can a Prozacker join?

I say toss up a big ole salad of those babies and have a party! (The post reunion adjustment could use a few doses too, believe me.) Remind me to tell the test drive story.... gawd.

Moh used to push me to call DOS. We would argue for a day or 2 and finally I'd give in and do it....and regret it.

Moh wants me to bombard the consulate with emails. I try to explain that it's useless. I told him a white lie and said that I did email them. I'm not wasting my time and energy. I'm convinced that Satan runs DOS.

LOL!!! I agree that it is a waste of time and energy. I followed the once-a-week pattern when I called DOS and I quit emailing the consulate in Cairo until I heard something different from DOS . . . like "the visa was issued" in my case, hehe, one day after I returned from my last trip to Cairo.

Um... well... actually I did bombard them. I got fed up. If they didn't respond to my email after 3 or 4 days they would get it forwarded again with "2nd request"... then "3rd request". This is standard business practice here, so what the heck. I finally received a reply stating "please stop emailing." Pfft. THEN PLEASE STOP IGNORING ME AND REPLY TO THE FIRST EMAIL IN A TIMELY MANNER AND I DON'T CARE HOW FREAKING BACKLOGGED YOU ARE I PAID MY FEE!

I am so glad to be done with that poop. And yes, I was (and maybe still am) a bit psycho.
