This is so ridiculous. We already have a full medical and vaccinations checked to even be able to receive and enter on a K1 or K3. Sheesh...

Jersey, keep us posted on your AOS and if you get a RFE for not submitting the I-693.

For those of us who are scheduled for a medical, is there anything we can request from the civil surgeon that would help us during AOS? I know about asking for a copy of the vaccination worksheet. Anything else?

So is it at POE, they keep the vaccination record that is included with my medical

and I then have to try and get another one for AOS is that how this is going to work?

Or when they take my medical pkg at POE it's looked after for AOS filing too

Can I make a copy of the one the Doc will give me with the medical?

Does this paper trail ever end?

Thanks

Allie

Allie - I have the Vaccination Worksheet from the K-1 Medical done in Canada, I got a copy of this from the CDN Dr. who did my medical in Halifax which is all I thought I needed. It is not on the correct "form" that they are looking for on AOS (Vacination Suppliment) which has to be filled out by a Civil Surgeon here in the US. The one I contacted asked for all the original copies of my vacination records from the CDN Health Depts. I'm going to take that to him WITH the copy of the Vaccination Worksheet and see if that will be enough evidence (for kicks and giggles I'll take my little 'yellow book' too).

For K-3'ers, can't you just ask that at the time of the medical that a Vacination Suppliment form also be generated and given to you at that time for the AOS process?? It seems to me if a Civil Surgeon is doing your medical anyway? Or do you guys use the same CDN "USA APPROVED" Dr's that the K-1'ers use?

Either way.. this form has to be signed off by a Civil Surgeon. BAH! Nothing's ever easy!

This is f***ing ridiculous. It's obvious that we're cleared for medical stuff if we're adjusting from a K1 or a K3!!!!!

And yeah, K3 people use the same list of approved doctors.

Misa,

This is probably worst case scenario.. and I don't want to be Chicken Little, but this is an interesting thread I've been reading which makes me want to dot my "i"s and cross my "t"'s... It's about the Vaccination Suppliment.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53757

Anyway, knowledge is power someone wise once said (tee hee).. so in my case it's worth the 45 min drive to see a Civil Surgeon to fill out the suppliment.

:)

PS Hubby says to remind everyone that Civil Surgeons to our knowledge are only States side.. The US "approved" Dr's in Canada can't fill out the medical suppliments.. They got us over a barrell on that one.

Im wondering if doing a cr-1 might not be worth the headache of going back to Montreal. All the hoops and hassle of doing aos here and still having the possibility of ending up in namecheck hell for an ungodly who knows how long time frame.

Hi I have that copy also from Dr Doane in Halifax. So let me get this right because I too thought that was all that would be needed.

In other words the copy he gave me of my vaccination work sheet isn't worth ####### when I fill my AOS form. I would have to take this worksheet to a Doc in WA along with vaccination records and pay just to get a Doctor there to sign it

Just when I thought all this was getting a bit easier

I wanna say Katherine didnt have any trouble using the vaccination worksheet..........and I also think she said it was a crapshoot.

Maybe do a search of her posts, if you're rushed to get info , otherwise Im sure she'll be along before too long.:)

Is having the CR-1 interview in Montreal a safer bet than doing AOS here? By that I mean can you sidestep the namecheck blackhole and upon approval be "guaranteed" a GC soonest? Or is it the same as doing AoS , getting approved but waiting for the GC for months and months?

I would say it's a safer bet and probably less headaches than AOS.

All the namechecks happen at the NVC and the Consulate. USCIS, as far as I know, already performed their checks when they approved your petition. When you get the CR-1 visa, you're already approved for a greencard. :)

Someone here from Canada did K3 first and then flew back for their CR-1 interview.

Allie,

Some people are submitting the Vacination Worksheet and getting along fine with just that. It's up to your comfort level. On the AOS papers for K-1'ers it states "you only need to submit a vacination suppliment, not the entire medical report". That is referencing a specific form (Suppliment to I-693), which needs to be completed "by a Civil Surgeon Only". You can take the ####### shoot.. and hopefully they won't ask for RFE. I'm just paranoid, and want to make sure that EVERYTHING they ask for on AOS, I give them, so we get as little RFE's as humanly possible.

All in your comfort level. I don't remember reading anything about the Vacination Worksheet not being enough for AOS on VJ before. I was simply trying to bring the topic up for discussion, not trying to tell anyone their Worksheet was #######.

Hope that clarifies :)

I had the supplement (I-693a) filled out last week and it only cost $25 to do so. I know that others have just sent in the vaccination worksheet, but it is taking us so damn long to get our paperwork together that I did not want to risk the RFE.

Honestly, getting it filled out was easy. Don't worry about it now.
