AOS Paperwork

So I had my first Paperwork hissy fit last night (well I had a small one on Saturday, but who's counting?). We have been attempting to fill out the paperwork for the 485, and is it just me or are the forms terribly redundant? Like the same questions over and over and over again! *sigh.. When I realized you had to fill out ANOTHER biological form all over again (G-325A) I almost DIED.. *sigh* how I wish we had printed out another 4 copies from the first - But i realize it has to be updated now with my new US address, but HOLY COW!

In the morning light however, I realize how simple this paperwork really is *sigh.. My recommendation is when your nerves are shot and you are frazzled beyond belief. Put the paperwork down, go have a good cry, snuggle up with your honey, and get some rest. It will look better in the morning light. AND it will be easier to fill out when you are not cursing the entire process and swearing at random Gov. agencies tee hee!

Okay so for my next installment..

I called multiple Civil Surgeon's on the Official List to transcribe my "Vacination Documentation Worksheet" onto the Suppliment form, and NONE of them would just do it for a resonable rate (all wanted $120 and up for it). They kept saying they had to charge for the full medical, even though I was DEMANDING I didn't need a full medical. I was so upset and frustrated, that hubby had to take over the calling. I think he got 3/4 of the way down the list for the CT Dr's, and then the first one we called on the list actually called us back the second time.

When has a CDN Dr. actually ever CALLED me.. ever talked to me from his cell phone?.. Once I got over that initial shock... He asked how our hunt was going, and I explained the RACKET that we were getting from Dr's trying to make us pay for a medical when all we needed was one little piece of paper.

The man sighed and said. That is EXACTLY why I got into this business. Apparently he must have discovered when he went for his pilots licence what crazy rates Dr's were charging for Immigrants/others to get medicals for paperwork purposes, and decided he would try to make a difference. He said "tell me again what you need". When I explained again what we needed (one retarded little form), he said, call me on my cell on Saturday morning, we'll meet and I'll do it for 25$. God BLESS that man!!!

Note to self: When it comes to US healthcare- One MUST keep calling and calling for the good deals and the Dr's who have empathy

Vent away!!! God knows I will be!!! I am just starting the process (I am the US citizen, but TRUST ME, I am the organized (read NEUROTIC) one who needs to do the forms). We got married yesterday. In NH, there are only 2 civil surgeons, one is 3 hours south, the other is 1 hour north. ARGH!!!

Emancipation, when I sent the I-485, it was with a worksheet filled out by the Toronto doctor. In my cover letter, I explained that my husband had the medical in Oct. and that the results were handed over at the POE. Will we get an RFE? Stay tuned.

You don't need to present your medical results with your AOS. But if you did not supply your vaccination records, I-693, you should expect an RFE.

So if you submit the vaccination worksheet that was already filled out by a civil surgeon during your medical for a K1/K3, that is no longer applicable to submit for AOS?

mmmmmmm... you guys are making me squeemish.. I'll submit the suppliment just to be safe, although I guess the way things are going we could still get a RFE

This seems to be a grey area, and it remains to be seen if we'll get an RFE for not submitting the I-693. My reason (and I can't locate the thread) was that Canadians get everything they need at their medical exam but USCIS "forgets" this and routinely asks for documents. In fact, the documents were handed over at the POE.

It was Reba (I believe) who pointed this out, and when she had trouble on this issue, called her Senator(?), who straightened them out. We'll see what happens next. (Do what makes you comfortable.)
