Ah yes, a VJ road trip to Montreal! Good times. With the amount of people going, could charter a bus. As it is, I'm sure calling out VJ handles while in the queue that morning would be certain to turn a few heads. Even though buddy @ NVC said that the consulate has a set number of immigration interviews per month, they are beginning to pile up rapidly. Consulate is either going to have to add a few more slots, or risk scheduling months in advance.

(PD and WJ will have another seat sale. I've also found that AC tends to lower prices to match PD, but not necessarily call it a sale.)

Other measures of central tendency from the spreadsheet (Cdn data only) for CC until interview -

Average - 54 days, Median - 51 days, Mode - 54 days

Std Deviation - 15 days (minimum wait was 19 days and max was 115 - yikes)

So, based on these 114 data points, 54 +/- 15 is average. That's 69 days, which matches your June 1st possibility.

There's a pile of folks with CC June-August 2013 who waited 75-92 days for their interview. Perhaps there was a similar backlog situation then? DWHEELS, would you remember?

I suppose I shouldn't waste my time crunching numbers from all angles. My partner likes to remind me that "we'll get the interview date when we do". It's been about 15 months all told already....

Well, June 1st is incredibly unlikely, given that they have a limited number of days on which they hold interviews, so I will likely be at least several days after that, at best. 92 days would put me at the 24th of June which is a holiday. So. We'll see. I'm not holding my breath, we'll just put it that way.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

Hang in there.

Well, another "stupid" question: how do you find out when your file left NVC? By calling NVC?

Edit: it WAS a stupid question, found the information...not my day today I guess :)

Reps often just say whatever to get people off the phone. I know they were scheduling yesterday. I sincerely hope they are today!

Interviews didn't start coming in til about mid day yesterday Eastern time. I really hope they start scheduling some today.

I talked to a NVC rep on last Friday. He told me that they (the phone reps) didn´t get an email at that day that interview departement stopped scheduling. But he said he will expect it any time soon (out of experience, they stop around the 18th/19th of a month) and we were told most likely they will stop scheduling after Friday.

Unfortunately I think yesterday was the last day and you got a correct answer. But on the other hand, what is really sure with NVC?

Interview email came on 4/16. DHL tracking showed a packet was sent on 4/20 and will arrive tomorrow 4/22. The status turned to READY today but the only other packet to the embassy was shipped on 4/15. What to make out of this? Can status turn to READY before packet is at the embassy? Or can they ship packet before the P4 email date? My understanding is that P4 comes the same day when interview was scheduled.

So the CEAC Visa status changed from "NVC" last night to "ready" this afternoon.

I thought "Ready" means the file arrived at the consulate. I doubt that it will be from scheduling interview (04/20) to "ready" within a day.

I hope it won´t be just an update by consulate to re-schedule interview!

It is not required like compulsory for sponsor to attend interview.

But if sponsor wish to attend it depends on the embassy. Some of the embassy would not allow anyone else other than interviewing person but some embassy do allow.

You can check on the website of your embassy to see whether they allow sponsor to attend interview

a

good idea...best be organized.

but i fear they're going to drop an interview date and give us 2 weeks notice....how does one book in a medical and flights and schedule 2x off work all in a matter of 2 weeks? sure its do-able if you have no life other than waiting but some of us are still trying to conduct real life min real time! this is such a money grab.... this past week both westjet and porter have had huge seat sales...that we've missed!!

but oh :idea::idea: , maybe nvc is thinking.....we'll all carpool and their going to schedule us all on the same day! now wouldn't that be fun!!!

LOL carpool. You know Mrs thb my daughter has a place in Montreal and I was telling her you never there how about using that as a rental day place for my embassy peeps. Whatcha think. Home comfort. It's a 3 bedroom. Ya'll can still carpool. LOL

mrs thb, please contact the Embassy here and explain: http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html

I had the same problem and using this form helped! Problem solved in 2 days.

Also, those who have CC and wait for P4, go ahead and do your medical exams, and if possible send them to the Embassies. This may help.

Good advice on the medical when requesting a expedite if they know you have all things done. They may be more quicker to find room for you.

I have seen people get expedite at embassy for graduations. Nothing earth shattering. Because unlike USCIS or NVC it doesn't have to be one of their list of expedite reasons like deployment, humanitarian reasons. My friend asking Lagos to please expedite her husbands interview so he can be there for her only sons graduation. It was scheduled end of January, they moved it to 1st of December. So it can be done.

The big issue that most have is first ya got to get past NVC if your petition is still there but ask away cuz its the embassy that is suppose to approve or deny a interview expedite request not NVC.
