I sent a expedite request in last week... I called NVC today and they notified me that my request was forwarded to the Jamaican Embassy. The rep stated that she did not know when I would get a response. I also contacted my congressman. So I'm still waiting...lol!! :clock::clock::clock:

Jamy2014, here is a potential solution:

1. Request an expedite at NVC today.

2. The Embassy will decide whether they can grant it for you

3. If the Embassy grants you the expeditious processing, they inform NVC about it.

4. Then, NVC transfers your file to the Embassy.

5. NeXT, the Embassy (not the NVC) will schedule your interview.

Good luck!

The concern is that if you are days away from being scheduled and you send a request which is approved, you then have to wait for your file to be sent and then received and scheduled by the embassy :/

I have an interview scheduled on May 15th in Montreal Embassy. I was born in India and don't have my immunization record. I got the blood tests done on March 31st to see what vaccinations I do require buy my Doctor is still waiting for results from health Canada. I had to reschedule my Medical examination appointment due to this. As far as I know..I would require TD/MMR and Varicella vaccinations. I am concerned as my doctor told me that Health Canada takes a long time to send the results back.

is there something I can do expedite it, asked the doctors office and asked me to wait.

Thanks a lot for all your help.

Hey guys,

I need some help/advice. I posted this question (worded broader) a few months back and am now (after finding and reading this thread) feeling completely freaked out. For the past 5 years, I have owned and operated my own home based Accounting business. My husband and I have traveled over the last 10 years (visiting both my country of citizenship, Canada (my spouses country of citizenship), and Mexico on tourist cards. I have made roughly $6,000-$8,000 from this business and have also earned minimal income employed for various companies (in the US) throughout the time period I was physically in the U.S. throughout the years (estimated to be approximately 6-7 months per year). Regardless, I have always filed tax returns and have earned around 20-25,000 per year doing this (as shown on my previous tax returns).

Last year (in April to be exact) we began this long process. At the time we filed, we were in the US (my husband was there on a tourist card). A few weeks after filling, we went to Canada for a 1 week visit. Upon our return, my husband was denied entry (they could see we had just applied for his PR and we of course did not lie about his ultimate goal of living there. At the time, I was 8 months pregnant with 2 small children at home.

My husband stayed in Canada while I went back to our home in Florida. I packed up our rental home, put everything in storage, resigned from a great job I had, and quickly went to Canada a few weeks later.

In the mean time, I have maintained my US Domicile by moving some things into my parents house in Florida, maintaining a storage unit in Florida with our larger items, maintained bank accounts, credit cards, Florida drivers license, and Florida vehicle registration. I have been in Canada temporarily during this process (applying to extend my temp stay once).

Now this is where I'm hoping someone can give advice: Throughout this time period (the last 5 years of owning my business), I have done the Accounting for a company in Canada. My US business invoices their Canadian business, and I pay taxes on this income in both the US and Canada. In the past, I was only contracted to do monthly and annual work for their company (for a limited monthly fee). As the company has grown over the years, they have requested I begin doing their Accounting on a more frequent basis (several days a week) which in turn, would lead to a much higher contract.

As I would be giving up a full-time job employed for someone else, the only income I would personally be bringing in is the income from the Canadian company as well as one other small contract I have for a company in Florida. For proof of Domicile, will this look odd to the interviewer that the bulk of my income is technically coming from Canada? (let me emphasize again, I would NOT be an employee of the company... The company would be contracting my services from my Florida based company). If not, would a letter from the Canadian detailing our contact be suffice?

Also, we plan on staying with my parents when we first arrive until we find a suitable property to purchase. They have drawn up a lease agreement with us. As our CC date was 4/15, I will be returning to the US in a few weeks to sign the lease, enroll my little ones in school for next year, purchase Disney season tickets, and turn my cellphone back on. Would you think this is enough proof of Domicile? Thank you so much to everyone offering advice! I really do appreciate it more than any of you could imagine!!

Well looks like you have the proof of re-establish of domicile covered. And it matters not where you are in the world. What immigration wants to know is will this work continue when you come to US. You say yes so no issue. If need be can you have a letter from them stating they have hired your services. A contract if you will I am sure you have that would be great proof.

Here is a list of Domicile re-establish also just in case.

Domicile

Please note, if the petitioner lives with the beneficiary abroad, you'll need to provide proof of US domicile with the AOS package, as well as bring it with you to the interview. Please read the I-864 instructions (pages 3 and 4) for information about it. This is NOT needed if the petitioner is living in the US. Here is a sample cover letter to include in the package (it lists MANY possible documents, some may not be applicable, of course, to prove that you have, or will re-establish, domicile in the US):
