Ok so I was reading some old threads to find out about the dhl tracking, I didn't know anything about it. I think I've found what could be my package!! Left "Boston" (also shows Portsmouth) Monday 3/6/2015 arrived in Guatemala City at destination yesterday 3/8/2015! Is this possibly me package? Theres no one else, on VJ anyway, from guatemala awaiting interview. So then how does this work?? When should I expect my interview letter?? Is that normal to ship the package & not send interview letter? & ceac still says "at NVC"

Did you get an interview? If not why would you think that's your package. The tracking is a fun tool (not exact science but close) for those who HAVE an interview and find out from NVC that their petition has been shipped to embassy.

People there is a big wide world out their the Visajourney audience isn't even 1% of who is out there waiting for interviews, case complete or approvals at USCIS not even close.

When you get your P4 letter is when you can track but really following on CEAC tracker is best. Right now you are all in "At NVC" it will stay that way until you get interview. Once shipped it changes to "IN-TRANSIT". When it gets to embassy it changes to READY and you will now see the date of status update. And it will say ready for interview.

Just stoping in real quick to let everyone know that my husbands visa was approved today. I'm still in Nigeria so no good network here. I will give more details in a week or so. The good news is the interview was very fast and easy with all the evidence we provided. Good luck too everyone still waiting.

Awesome news Luvmytater. Congratulations. :goofy:

I've been watching the DHL tracking site, and packages are leaving NVC heading for various embassies. I hope that means they're scheduling interviews, and that the letters are just slow.

How fast does the CEAC site update status? Does the package ship to the embassy a day or two before the CEAC site shows "In Transit"?

Are there any indicators (like the 3 N/A's for case complete) that would suggest an interview has been scheduled?

Did you get an interview? If not why would you think that's your package. The tracking is a fun tool (not exact science but close) for those who HAVE an interview and find out from NVC that their petition has been shipped to embassy.

DWheels, Thank you for clarifying. I was just reading the above post from OIMe and was curious about the dhl thing. I understand you have been doing this for 3 years now but others of us have not and we are very new and uninformed about these processes. Don't fault us for being curious and hopeful. Sometimes you seem to be very harsh in your replies and you make me feel very stupid sometimes for not knowing something or taking a long shot guess at something. I, & I think others that are new, do this to be hopeful and optimistic. We don't know how it works and appreciate your clarifications, just would hope you, as someone who I assume went through this whole nasty process of your own at some point, would be more understanding & compassionate.

Exactly. Dwheels is a bit of a douche. I simply stated that I hoped that packages shipping meant that interviews were being scheduled, and asked how fast the statuses get updated. It took 7 days to get my case complete email, so I thought it might be possible that the wheels were moving, and interviews being scheduled, even though no one is receiving the notifications.

We are pleased that my wife's interview was successful and her visa was approved today. We arrived at the U.S. embassy in New Delhi 30 mins earlier than interview appt time. My wife gave all papers based on the interview instructions and fingerprints were scanned.

The interview officer asked my spouse some questions:

1) who is the petitioner? (My husband xxxxxxx)

2) where does he live? (Answer)

3) what is his job position? (Answer)

4) how did you and your husband meet? (Answer)

5) was it love marriage or arranged marriage? (It was love marriage)

6) when did you and your husband get married? Where? (Answer)

7) how many people attended your wedding? Did your family and relatives attend (Answer and yes, respectively)

8) after marriage, did he visit you? (Yes, twice)

9) did you communicate often? (Yes, email, skype, phone, and social media chat- show chat transcript)

10) do you have wedding photos? Can I see them? (Answer and show photo album.

Then officer smiled and said, "Congratulations! You have been approved!" And instructed to pay fees after visa is issued and before departing to the U.S. We exited the U.S. embassy with big smile face! The interview lasted 15 mins. Total time including standing outside the embassy and sitting inside the embassy was almost 2 1/2 hours. We will pick up the passport in few days. Thanks to dwheels and other VJ admins. We are looking forward to traveling to the U.S. soon!

I didn't read DWheels' response as harsh - it is informative. Imagine seeing the same impatient people everyday of the month for three years and just trying to help them feel connected and informed when you really can't change the government processes. Not everything needs to be sugar coated - facts are facts. DWheels - I really appreciate all of the help and information you put out for people.

This is a good time to remind people how the DHL tracking works.

When your interview is scheduled, all your paperwork is gathered together and packaged to be sent to your embassy/consulate.

1. The NVC system triggers the P4 "interview letter" which many of you get from 3 to 7 days after your interview has been scheduled.

2. A shipping clerk calls up the DHL system and "registers" the package (which might include other peoples' cases, too), which creates the tracking number. The registration tells DHL that there is a package for pickup but that doesn't mean that DHL picks it up RIGHT AWAY. There could be as much as a three-day lag between the registration and the physical pickup. I believe (I do not know for sure) that your status changes to "In Transit" when the package is registered with DHL - NOT when it is physically picked up.

If your status still says "AT NVC", your package is still at NVC. So JennyLu, sorry, that package is not yours.

Sukie, interesting observation.

If this is true, we should be tracking the date when CEAC status changes to "In Transit" and to "Ready". This type of tracking would give us a chance to see whether the interview was indeed scheduled.

Been doing this for 3 years see it all the time. I think what threw everyone off is they did My so so early so instead of now 1st week of the month doing the next month they started 2 weeks ago so they are done and everyone thinks something is wrong.

They schedule when they schedule they go until either all slots are filled or they run ut of people. Or the window of scheduling i closed.

Remember embassies have to schedule around vacations, time off people transferring some embassies may have personnel issues we would ever know.

Disheartening not even. Its what this thread was made for togetherness and communication and information. What has been heartbreaking are the varies embassies that have longgggggg wants. I remember my Romancminds was on my list from August until they got an interview in May the next year. Egypt my dear friends there also have months to wait. That's whats disheartening.

People are under the impression Case Complete means you get interview that day. N you are now in the interview queue and there is a big world out there not all on VJ. And people would be shocked how many people really interview a day at their embassy.

Just hang on good news is coming soon for you all. Just a little more patience.

Thanks, dwheels, for mentioning the long wait for Egypt. Honestly, it makes me a little crazy to see people that have only been waiting a couple of weeks since CC, complaining about not having an interview date yet. My hubby and I have been waiting almost 7 1/2 weeks since our CC, and still nothing. My husband just deployed today. The Embassy in Cairo did not care that the Egyptian Army is sending him into danger. So for those that keep freaking out about not having received an interview date yet, take a chill pill and say Alhamdulillah you are not in my situation. Insha'Allah, you will all get an interview date soon enough.

I do not think that the people are complaining. They just wanna know what is going on and stop worrying if something went wrong.

Every case is different.
