congrats! :dancing:

exactly my thought, overnighting the marriage certificate today...scandate wont be pushed by alot, nvc didnt even scan our first package yet

how long does it take to get a scandate?

scan date is the day NVC receives your package by mail usually...They may not give u scan date immediately...but, they email you the scan date 8 or 10 days after they received your package.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

But sorry to say that my doubt still persists.

does this mean one I864 by the sponsor and another I864 by the joint sponsor?

Please tell me why I864A form is not needed.

I864a for household members only. If your joint sponsor have the same address as primary sponsor you can use this form.

Thanks a lot for the reply,

Is it mandatory to file I864A if sponsor and co-sponsor is living in same household. I heard I864A rejection and checklist chances are more.

Anyone here filed I864A.?

As per Saylin, "The I-864A is used for household members of sponsors. Typically, the only time I recommend using the I-864A is for spouses of joint sponsors who are deciding to contribute their income as well. So, in these cases, the petitioner would file an I-864, the main joint sponsor would file an I-864 as well, and then the joint sponsor's spouse would file an I-864A."

Hi Everyone,

I just called NVC regarding my checklist and i am not too sure about the information that was given to me. Can you guys please help.

NVC just requested my 2014 tax return and my income information. As i am residing outside the US and not working the NVC customer service agent asked me to put my husband's projected income of 2015 in Part 6 Section 10 of I-864. Which seems a bit odd.

The joint sponsor is my father and NVC informed that his I-864 is complete.

Question: Do i really need to put my husband's income on my I-864, Part 6 section 10 (my current annual household income)?

Thank you

it's your choice to include your husband's income for Part 6.a. If you do, then, you have to send your husband's employment letter with salary details OR his recent 6 months of pay stubs along with your I-864. If your joint sponsor's income meets poverty guideline requirements, then I recommend not to include your husband's income since the joint sponsor's I-864 is complete.

For your income, you have to enter '0' for your income since you are residing outside the US and not working.

As per Saylin, " for petitioners living and working abroad, put $0 for the question on current income (unless your income will continue, then put the amount). In either case, include an employment letter with all the details and if your job will NOT continue, make sure it is stated as such in the letter. It'd also be a good idea to mention this in the cover letter."

Now that I sent all documents with BARCODE Sheet, Do I need to send the document cover sheet that came with NVC welcome letter ? If yes, do I need to write a cover letter asking them to add this document cover sheet with the documents already sent ?

No need to send the document cover sheet alone :-) Just the BARCODE sheet is sufficient.

Hi all, got a question about scan dates. I sent my AOS documents to the NVC on Feb 27th while I was waiting for the stupid IV bill to get invoiced. It finally got invoiced on the third week of March and I sent the IV docs to them. Scan date for that was 3/30, but I got a checklist for the AOS the same day due to a unfilled field in the I-864. I sent the fixed I-864 and it was scanned on 4/8. Should I be expecting a CC (assuming there are no more checklists) based on the scan date of the IV docs, or the scan date for the checklist?

NVC goes by scan date of latest document they received.

Called NVC again today, they told me my checklist for DS-261 was a misprint and it should have been checklist for DS-260. My new scan date is when I got confirmation for filing out the DS-260 form which is 4/16, so 45 wait again begins from that date.

Good news for us, case complete AND a May 8 interview date in the same letter. I was planning on a humid visit to Montreal in July, happy to be disappointed!

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

My father (Who is the joint sponsor) meets the poverty guidelines in his I-864. On calling NVC the representative mentioned to write my husbands salary in Part 6.c as he is my household and write mine as $0. Do I still need to provide them with my husbands employment letter stating salary ?
