@Agnik how long would it takes for them to review our ds261 and BTW did you already sent your AOS and IV packages?

They won't invoice IV fee unless AOS has been paid?

I was able to get mine reviewed 13 days after I submitted it but it can take longer depending on the reps you get when you call, and no the first fee if I'm correct opens/ties in with the ds261 so the iv fee will not be invoiced until the ds261 is reviewed that's the key piece .

I have question for you Saylin: Can I use an AOS cover sheet I have to send a corrected AOS form checklist before receiving the NVC e-mail? If I knew the mistake?

I have a question...today is our 2 year anniversary. Do I need to call NVC and update from CR1 to IR1 or do we do that when we have our interview?

Don't bother with NVC. Just tell them at the interview that you've been married for longer than 2 years and should thus be upgraded to an IR-1 visa. If for whatever reason they mess up and put a CR-1 visa in the passport, then just mention it at POE (and make sure you have a copy of the marriage certificate on hand, in case) and they can take care of it.

I would suggest waiting for the checklist to make sure you know exactly what's wrong with your AOS package. Sometimes the reps aren't very accurate, or they don't tell you EVERYTHING that's wrong/missing.

no, my hubby has no dependents

it was hard for me to understand too, but i think i got it now :)

how many aos did u file? cuz somewhere u have to get to a household of 5 or???

we are about to send our papers to nvc now and i must say the hardes part for me was the ds260, it took me days to find out all my previous adresses, jobs and schools since i lived in 2 countries and had 2 citizenships. but now its over, mailing the IV and AOS this week then the waiting game will beginn for us too :dancing:

just one I-864EZ per Case (one for each of us)..... multiple reps at NVC have said that our files are all cross-referenced and linked, so one could assume (ya I know....) that with two people already in the US and the three of us immigrating.... but regardless we're fine meeting the income requirements for 5 people (or 3 or 4... however they want to look at it...) :P :P

I figured I'd just follow *their* rules and if clarification or further info was needed, I'd cross that bridge when I get there.... **still hoping & praying for NO checklists!!)) We want to be done and in the US before the kids start school in September....

Best wishes

[...]

If you have no other dependents, then your household size would be three: yourself, your spouse, and the immigrant.

Saylin even if I have other kids for who I filed Form I-864 W Exemption. And the had their CC 3 days ago? Means I don't need to count them on this I-864 for my daughter, RIGHT? ...

As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm supposed to receive an email about how to move forward with paying my IV fees. I received that email today with an attachment of a barcoded IV Fee Invoice, which I'm able to use in the event that I'm not able to pay my fees online. I checked my status on the website and the IV fee is still not available. My question is, should I go ahead and pay by mail and not wait for the online fee to become available? If I do pay by mail, how long do you think it will take for them to receive payment and have the DS-260 form to become available? Thanks.

You will both receive one because as the beneficiary, you are in charge with gathering the civil documents listed in the cover sheet.
