This will probably be my last post ... I received an email notification that Dave's application was approved and card was being processed. Congrats to him.

I was quite shocked that it happened without an interview. He was arrested twice for domestic violence (those were just the times the police were called), left the country for 6 months, and ran off with 3 different women. We were married 3 years & never spent one anniversary together.

I finally ran from him in May & was living in a domestic violence shelter for a while. I am now on my own, healthier (mentally), and wiser. It took me a while to see what others were saying, but I truly believe his ultimate goal was just to get his green card.

Since we are new to Michigan, we have to fulfill the residency requirement (90 days in state) before the divorce can be filed. November cannot get here soon enough. Thank goodness the divorce will be finalized 2 months after (Happy New Year to ME!!). If we were still in California, it would have taken 6 months.

Anyhow, good luck to everyone with your journeys :)

I just decided to check my status on the USCIS website for the first time, and I am getting a message that they do not recognize my receipt number? What does that mean?

Are you sure you're entering the right receipt number from the biometrics appointment notice?

Wow!!! so sorry Carla, I remember you from our first forums applying for greencard and you were so involved in Dave's process and also giving quality advice. Can't believe this has happened but it is what it is. I'm happy you are safe and getting to the place you ought to be. All the best in your future plans.

This will probably be my last post ... I received an email notification that Dave's application was approved and card was being processed. Congrats to him.

I was quite shocked that it happened without an interview. He was arrested twice for domestic violence (those were just the times the police were called), left the country for 6 months, and ran off with 3 different women. We were married 3 years & never spent one anniversary together.

I finally ran from him in May & was living in a domestic violence shelter for a while. I am now on my own, healthier (mentally), and wiser. It took me a while to see what others were saying, but I truly believe his ultimate goal was just to get his green card.

Since we are new to Michigan, we have to fulfill the residency requirement (90 days in state) before the divorce can be filed. November cannot get here soon enough. Thank goodness the divorce will be finalized 2 months after (Happy New Year to ME!!). If we were still in California, it would have taken 6 months.

Anyhow, good luck to everyone with your journeys :)

So VSC is back on schedule! It is saying 6 months. I guess we will be hearing something around now into October for us April filers from uscis.

I was wondering how things would go knowing that we're all close enough to hitting the 6 month waiting mark.
