I-751 April 2015 Filers

Update:

I had an info-pass appointment scheduled earlier this week and the lady at USCIS told me not to worry over the fact that I had not received the biometrics notice yet. If I haven't heard anything in another 2 months, I should schedule another info-pass.

Just an FYI (I was not aware of this): She did point out however that I should get the stamp in my passport stating that my I-751 is pending, especially since I had to renew my driver's license and she told me it couldn't be done without the stamp (neither can travelling). I came back a couple of hours later with my passport to get my stamp and went straight to renew my license and had no problems.

Thanks ZandraO - that makes me feel better. My husband had biometrics in May, but we haven't heard a peep about anything...

All that is needed is the NOA extension letter that extends your green card for one year while your I-751 is pending. We renewed driver's license and travelled internationally WITHOUT any passport stamp. No problems at all. But you do need to carry that letter combined with green card.

So here's the thing April filers with Vermont Center.Vermont is on track (6months) in processing applications. So October will be our month. You will not hear from uscis before August.Everything begins in August-October(maybe end of month for some). my thoughts to you is register on their site at uscis.gov to keep track of your application. Rfe's will be sent out to those of us that needs to submit more info by then.Approvals will not come around until the 6th month(late September-October) slot if all is well with our applications. Hope this helps. Goodluck to you all!

Hi everyone,

First time commenting here. Just called USCIS to check on my status, as i havent heard from them since my biometrics on May 26, 2015. They said processing time is 6 months. So i guess, i just have to wait till then. Goodluck to everyone and hope we get some results sooner than the processing time.

I am happy for all of you that have already gotten approved! Wish Vermont center would step up with their progress. In an earlier post I stated Vermont was on schedule when in fact it was California. Vermont is still doing October 2014 filers so some of our cases might get transferred to get rid of the caseloads. Don't know if that is a good thing or not.

Getting your case transferred to CSC is the best thing that can happen to you :)

I am a Nov filer and as of today we have no news on our case. And if they transfer you it might slow down the processing time with a month, but CSC will still be able to process it within 6-7 months, up to 8 months max. VSC might take more than a year to do so, so transfer to CSC is by far the best:)

So I recently read part of an article written on May of this year about uscis service center vermont. I'm pasting only what it states about I751. If this is old news it's a first for me.

"USCIS is no longer scheduling random interviews for I-751 petitions; cases scheduled for interview are those needing additional proof of the bona fides of the marriage. If an I-751 application is approvable as filed, an interview will not be scheduled."

You can read it in its entirety.just scroll to i751
