Dominican Republic Birth Certificate Problem

Well it seems that the record keeping is not so great there

1) wife has birth certificate but I sent her to get the "long one" for the visa process

2) mothers birth date is messed up

3) getting it corrected is going to be a 50 day process..... after we fussed around with the local office Mother had to go to Santo Domingo to make correction now we just wait 50 days

4) grandfather gave her wrong date of her fathers birth date (I used the wrong date in my paperwork to start the visa) Father died 24 years ago

So now we wait.....

Anyone else have this kind of thing happen?

Any Suggestions to speed it up?

If your wife has birthcertificate, abd the problem is her mother date, that isnt a problem a for her.

She can het her birthcertificate with her mother date wrong,

Why the date of the mother will afect her?

she has to use that birthcertificate and use rhe date that is on the birthcertificate.

Correct a birthcertidicate it is a little long here

All you need it is use the date that is on her birthcertidicate.

It doesbt matter wich date has her mother, the important thing is that your wife information be ok.

Interesting - The Republic Dominica has 2 types of birth certificates, One with parents birth dates and one with out parents birth dates.

I wonder if we can use the one without.....

You need in extensa format, that mean the long one.

In extensa has the parents birthday.

Yes the long form is pretty much what I expect.

Oh well need to get it and everything translated now
