I-864 Household size and last name

Hello all,

Getting married next month, starting to do fill out forms for AOS now (yes, will fill in timeline ).

First question: when I fill out the I-864 the math in Part 5.8 comes up as 3. Items 5.1 5.2 and 5.3 are all 1. Is this right? I thought me and wifey would equal only two?

Also, since we are submitting paperwork after marriage and she will be taking my last name. So I should fill out all the forms in her married name or her last name (on all her documents?)

Hi,

You are counting your wife twice. The instructions tells you to only count her once.

She can use her married name. Just list her maiden name under other names used.
