Sorry- just a question ...do you get to pick up the visa today or tomorrow? And with the exception of Memorial Day- is the embassy currently in operation on Mondays?

The embassy takes US and UK holidays. Here is their schedule http://london.usembassy.gov/ukpubhol.html

Open on Mondays except if a scheduled holiday.

They emailed me today that my visa is in transit to the courier. I get to pick it up tomorrow as per the tacking information. And yes, The embassy is open on Mondays unless it's a holiday. I had my interview 2 Mondays ago.

It may also help if you tell them that your wedding date is nearer during the interview. Because I know someone whose wedding date is a week earlier than mine, and she got her visa last Saturday. She got a message last Friday. Her wedding is one week earlier than mine.

Im curious how long did it take most of you to receive your interview letters? My Interview date was assigned on the 21st of May. I am starting to get concerned cause out interview is on the 17th but we don't have the letter and I know we need it to get in...

It usually takes less than a week. Someone else that happened to they emailed them and told them they never received it so they replied confirming the date and they used that to get in for the interview. They also have the information on file there so if you have an interview even without the interivew letter you'll get in :)

First of all, please accept my deepest, most sincere apologies for abandoning you all. The last week for me was sheer hell and I couldn't face the forum or any questions. I will come and post a detailed account of what happened and my POE experience once I've recovered from my 29 hour day and all the events of yesterday.

However I am now finally home!

Got the visa Saturday afternoon and flew in yesterday with lots of delays, flight changes and re routing but we touched down in Orlando just before midnight Eastern time. I need to do this on the laptop though once I can find it and it's cables, lol.

I will come and post a detailed account of what happened and my POE experience once I've recovered from my 29 hour day and all the events of yesterday.

However I am now finally home!

Got the visa Saturday afternoon and flew in yesterday with lots of delays, flight changes and re routing but we touched down in Orlando just before midnight Eastern time. I need to do this on the laptop though once I can find it and it's cables, lol.

No worries Lee! Just happy to hear you received your visa and are in the states! Welcome! And enjoy your time with your fiancé...you've definitely earned it :)

His POE wasn't bad, but he missed his initial flight out of London and ended up having to fork over $700 to transfer his plane ticket, then he had to spend about 18 hours overnight in Iceland waiting for his Seattle flight. Just not a smooth trip like we had planned.
