The embassy in London sets up their own appointments. They will only set one up once the DS160, medical results and readiness form have all been submitted. Check out the K1 guide pinned at the top of this (UK) forum. It lays everything out step-by-step.

I can't say with 100% certainty that you shouldn't wait for the packet 3 letter because I'm not that far along in the process. But I am 90% sure there isn't anything there that isn't covered by the guide. So as long as your case is at the embassy and you have all the documents needed for the interview, which can be found in the guide and on the embassy site, I think you are fine to submit your readiness form. Submitting the readiness form is as close as we get to setting up an interview. It lets the embassy know we are ready and then they will set up the date and time and mail you a letter.

We submitted our readiness form the day of my fiancés medical....we did not wait for "Packet 3" (which is just the letter from the embassy saying they're ready for you to start submitting paperwork)...and we were fine :)

Sorry if this is a stupid question - do you actually need to wait for "packet 3" prior to setting up an interview time? Medical is done and 160 has been submitted. Just waiting on this packet and to book the interview

During my medical, they asked to see my packet 3. Was surprised that they didn't asked for yours when you had your medical. The packet 3 is basically a letter indicating that your case is already with the London Consulate and contains your case number starting with LND. It also has instructions on what you are supposed to do after. It also contains a copy of your I29F that your petitioner has sent.

It would be basically upto you, if you want to schedule your interview date now since you've had your medical already. Although just to remind you, they will be asking for your packet 3 and 4 during the interview.

Nich-Nick wasn't saying you have to wait for Packet 3 to arrive. She gave you a link to the instructions which are contained in the hard copy sent out in the mail for you to read in advance. Most of us on this thread didn't wait for our Packet 3, but there are some things that can't be done before others, which is why it is important to know how the process works. It's just so you don't end up being delayed.

That is extremely frustrating. :( I would probably be calling NVC repetitively, but I don't know if that would help or just make me feel better.

There is a way you can find out. You would have to call NVC and ask if it has been shipped. If they say yes, ask for the date. Then you can track it on DHL.

I looked up this method on a thread on VJ.. I put in EXP 19 MAR 2015A which was the date I had called NVC and is a total guess on my part (since I can't currently get ahold of them), and put this into DHL..and it did bring up that a package has arrived in London just today. If it's mine or not I don't know. Been trying NVC and not able to get through, couldn't call before because I've been trying to get my mom's test results all day. *sigh*

We were lucky in that ours was apparently the only one that was sent to London on that particular day and I checked the weight of the packet and then checked the photo William sent me of our one when he mailed it and the weight was almost identical so I knew it was ours. Our case changed to ready within 2 hours of it being delivered so I like to assume that we were right :D It is guess work though. Someone posted the other day that they called NVC and their number is now working. I can't remember if they said how or why, or what was done to fix it.

Oh, ok. Well since I don't "understand" this process this is why I am on VJ. For help and support... WITHOUT an attitude.

Ouch!

Your help was giving you the link to the instructions so you could read how the London process goes without waiting until London mails you the same link, particularly the part that explains this--

Please note that the interview will not be scheduled until you have completed Steps 1 - 4 and the Immigrant Visa Unit is in receipt of the medical examination.

Hi guys, I am loosing it now - still no interview date.

I have being calling NVC every week. Emailed Embassy - they sent me to the website with comment that I have to wait.

My other concern now that Police Certificates are going to hit 60 days within first 10 days of June. Shall I reorder them again? I cant even think strait lately.

We just got approved last night! Trying to work out if we need to postpone our planned August 27th wedding. I think we will wait until it gets to NVC and we get our case number and can book the medical (hopefully in under 18 days from now) to see if we need to postpone. If we can get a medical booked for as early as the 15th of June, even if it takes 8 weeks after than to interview, I can still get there about 10 days before the wedding... it's a close one.

When booking the medical did people find they were hindered by their own schedules? Or was the date decided purely on the doctor's earliest availability? I don't work so my schedule is wide open, hoping that means I could grab an early medical date.

We'll see... it may have to become an October 1st wedding!

Congrats and welcome!

Is it a UK Police certificate? If so I believe what I read on the embassy website is they are valid for a year. So that should be fine.

Did you send in your D-160 & Readiness form? It took ours 11 days from the medical & we had already submitted both those things.
