Ok cool. I was hoping that's how mine went but it never updated when they mailed our packet 4 lol Silly process. ?

There were a few of you around the same time who didn't get an update for packet 4. I can't help wondering if the CEAC issue some are experiencing still, had anything to do with it. Yet another thing for us to pointlessly wonder about, yet never know.

I was looking at my "Ready" status earlier today and thought how funny it is that I spent days willing it to show as Ready. Now I'm irritated that it's been Ready for so darn long and I want it to change to something new :D

You're so funny! But so typical. It is never fast enough, even for people who make it through at blazing speeds. There's always the next bit you are forced to wait on. Waiting is never fun in my opinion, whether it's waiting on the bus, the elevator, or the cable guy to show up.

I was talking to Wooderz early this week and told her I don't keep up with timelines any more because I really don't care. It's not that I don't understand your frustrations, but more that I can't fix it, or offer an exact answer, or make a month, a week, or a day feel any more comfortable for you. It is always longer than you want it to be.

Oh, well darn! I don't like to be typical. What can I do to be interesting? I know .... I'll book flights so that you can all sit in suspense waiting to see if I make it or not. You've got to give me credit for providing entertainment. If I do a good job at it, you'll all be disappointed (and bored) when I finally get to my POE

We just got approved last night! Trying to work out if we need to postpone our planned August 27th wedding. I think we will wait until it gets to NVC and we get our case number and can book the medical (hopefully in under 18 days from now) to see if we need to postpone. If we can get a medical booked for as early as the 15th of June, even if it takes 8 weeks after than to interview, I can still get there about 10 days before the wedding... it's a close one.

When booking the medical did people find they were hindered by their own schedules? Or was the date decided purely on the doctor's earliest availability? I don't work so my schedule is wide open, hoping that means I could grab an early medical date.

We'll see... it may have to become an October 1st wedding!

Congratulations!! It's a wonderful feeling isn't it? :) As you will see from just this forum- once we all called a received our LND numbers from the NVC- we scheduled our medicals anywhere from 11 days to 2 weeks from that day. We're a pretty daring bunch lol. But if you have a deadline you want to meet- I would just go for it. I believe we scheduled our medical 2 weeks from the day I got our LND number. And then we submitted our DS-160 & readiness forms the day of the medical.

It will be a nail biter for you, but if really important then push the envelope to get it done. The worse that can happen is some hitch that delays you and then a wedding date change. But if you don't push it, you won't make it and will still have to change the date. Right? Some have booked a few weeks out to allow time for the case to be in London. Take the first available appointment once you know your number. Don't wait on "ready" status. I know others who have attended the medical before "ready" status and nothing happened. Desperate times call for risky measures.

That is assuming you already have your police certificate, got your shots, and shot record for the medical. If not, then get on it right this minute.

Sorry if this is a stupid question - do you actually need to wait for "packet 3" prior to setting up an interview time? Medical is done and 160 has been submitted. Just waiting on this packet and to book the interview.

You need to read the "packet 3" instructions because you don't understand the London process. You don't get to set up an interview time.

It's great! Although now just the burning desire for the next stage to be completed!

Police certificate, vaccinations and record, birth certificate, affidavit and support, DS160 filled in and saved. All done.

Well hopefully we can get to NVC and get our case number swiftly! We've been biting our nails for 7 months, what's a little longer? Thanks for the info!

If you already had your medical & have submitted your D-160 then you need to submit your readiness form which is in the guides in that link. Once the embassy has your medical results, your D-160 and you readiness form they will schedule your interview. So I would submit your readiness form ASAP. You don't have any choice with the date of the interview...once they have everything it takes around 2 weeks (sometimes longer) for them to send you the letter. The letter is considered "Packet 4". But reading the guides is very helpful especially at this stage :)

Oh, ok. Well since I don't "understand" this process this is why I am on VJ. For help and support... WITHOUT an attitude.

The embassy in London sets up their own appointments. They will only set one up once the DS160, medical results and readiness form have all been submitted. Check out the K1 guide pinned at the top of this (UK) forum. It lays everything out step-by-step.

I can't say with 100% certainty that you shouldn't wait for the packet 3 letter because I'm not that far along in the process. But I am 90% sure there isn't anything there that isn't covered by the guide. So as long as your case is at the embassy and you have all the documents needed for the interview, which can be found in the guide and on the embassy site, I think you are fine to submit your readiness form. Submitting the readiness form is as close as we get to setting up an interview. It lets the embassy know we are ready and then they will set up the date and time and mail you a letter.
