Progress thread for TSC filers now between NVC and Interview Stage

My theory is that the DS 160 floats in some kind of black hole until your interview date. It's neither here nor there. You give the confirmation number when you submit your readiness form and then you take your confirmation page print out to the interview and they retrieve it (or let you take the confirmation of a new one if you have amended and re-done it).

EXACTLY what I think. There is no RFE, or prejudgment, or yay or nay on your DS-160 application like some people seem to think. Nobody reads it until the few minutes before your number is called to go to the back section interview window.

So I still can't see my case in the CEAC. I did call NVC yesterday and it's definitely the correct case number I have so I think they're either being very slow with activating CEAC or NVC aren't doing it and instead it's the embassy that does it?

Another couple who's case reached NVC around the same time as mine has the same issue yet it has been sent to the embassy the last time she called, so who knows what's happening with that. Just thought I'd update this in case anyone was in the same boat as us.

I'm just going to be calling regularly to see if it has gone to the embassy or not yet.

I should note that this other couple's case number also appears as 'your search did not return any data' in the CEAC too even though it has been sent to the embassy.

Apologies that wasn't very clear above.

Same day as ours ?

Yes, I know and just so glad. I figured that since we had that hassle with the medical it might be much later.

Thank you so much. I'm leaving for London tomorrow morning and starting to feel anxious now. I have no idea why. I think this process over such a long time has these silly triggers where, when something is about to happen, it's as if there is this dutiful obligation to feel anxious.

I've just sent a snippy email to the photo booth company at our local grocery store because I thought I'd better get some new visa photos done (ours were done 8 months ago and if there is an issue or they want to be difficult about it, I can redo mine there but needed daughter's in case) and the background is mis-aligned so when it printed there is a big dark seam where it joins to the back of the booth. That's a silly little thing, That made me feel agitated and stressed.

I had my work farewell last night. They took me out for a lovely dinner and drinks and gave me some beautiful gifts and some things for William and I as well. I was very touched and it was a bit emotional as we are a small firm with only 8 people so you kind of get close after almost a decade of working together.

I will only have my phone with me when I go down for the interview so I warn you in advance to excuse any typos and auto correct craziness that is likely to show up in my posts :)

Thanks for the support to this stage. Nich-Nick, you have been such a superstar and given so much balanced and helpful information. We are so grateful (F)

Yes I think we are all grateful for all the help she gives us. She makes it easier. :( and yes you'll be fine but perfectly normal to be anxious a little. It's almost over :( and I bet that it was a little emotional but very sweet that they care so much about you guys.

Thank you so much. The anxiety is probably so many emotions from various things besides the interview overloading your brain. You know there's no way they won't approve you, but being anxious before any "big day" in your life is pretty normal. Hope everything is perfect for you.
