Thank you :) Yes, we would have liked an earlier date, but who wouldn't, right? At least we have something set to work on now - for the first time since the end of July last year. You should have yours within a couple of weeks and then it's Home Time!

Thank you so much. We are just so relieved to have a date. This has been a journey of the unknown, with the only certainty being that we love each other, will get through this together and that we will eventually get there. It's been a long road, but seeing light at the end of it now brings a sense of relief that cannot be described. Thank you all for your support. Now we need everyone else to get their dates so we can all start putting the final plans together for our weddings and new lives as couples and families.

I totally agree, I think having that "final" date for the interview and seeing the light at the end would be so helpful. I am so happy for you guys and that looks to mean hopefully you'll make it to your wedding date you wanted? I can't wait to get our date so we can plan a more specific time and date and watch everyone else on here get theirs too. Yay for progress for us all!

I had a question about the medical, I just got my vaccination records from my doctor and she made a table with all my records name date

She wrote it to whom it may concern

That sounds great. Others have had even less...a computer printout with no letterhead or signature. Look at it and make sure you have dates for

2 MMR

1 covering diptheria, tetanus, pertussis given in the last 10 years or a booster of diptheria/tetanus for previous childhood d, t, and p vaccinations.

Oh way better than ours! We have moved and traveled so much that everything was on separate bits of paper from different doctors and travel clinics. The nurse said it took her a while to put it all together. If we were fine, you will be too. :)

ok and haha mind you I don't sound super southern to myself....but apparently I am. But I'm not redneck southern you can just tell I'm from the south. But I work in customer service so I have to tone it down etc... and make sure I sound a certain way so that changes it a lot. My fiance is from Manchester...well Oldham UK and he doesn't really sound like they do either. He does sound English obviously and northern but not Oldham. lol

Small world! I'm a CR-1 DCF filer with London and we are in Bury (just across the road from Oldham). I'm waving :)

Oh wow, trying to book trains to London and back for the interview. Found some ticket's I'm very happy with, but I seem to be stuck in this little town because there are no trains running on the Sunday before the interview and no bus service to get to Edinburgh or Glasgow. I thought I was clever booking an overnight train from London after the interview to avoid the necessity of an additional night in a hotel (read, expense) in London and now it looks like I might have to go on Saturday and spend two nights anyway. Ugh, my head hurts

The 1 pm time slot changes things up if you are more than a few hours away from London and/or have connections that take time. To be fair, this is a local rail network issue. They are doing maintenance on the lines and because we are at the end of the line, there are no alternative routes to get out of here. I've managed to solve the problem by offering my dad gas money to drop me off about 15 minutes from here, which skips out the non-service part of the journey and by the time I get back it's a week day and there is no maintenance on weekdays. I'm actually quite pleased with what I got now. It's nothing like the prices we paid over the Easter period when we had our medical. Also, I am booking further in advance so there were still deals to be had. First class was only £6 more than a regular standard ticket, which includes food and drinks and wifi as well, so that considered, it was actually cheaper.

Neil is in Manchester? He should be OK getting a train back early evening. I opted for an overnight train on the way back as it was cheaper than a hotel for another night and I have to come back anyway.

Yeah cause you are a little further out but I am glad you managed to find a way. Any suggestions on places to stay? I know he'll need to stay the night before since you get there earlier in the day...at least that's what I heard but if you have an afternoon appointment how are you going to do that? I mean what time will you get there? And yes he's pretty close to Manchester so last time I booked him the 6pm train back so that was plenty of time and it was pretty cheap so that should work again on the way back at least. We figured on having to stay both for medical and interview, so we are just happy we didn't have to do both. Just be glad to get a date soon so we can finalize a few things on this end for the wedding and such. So exciting! I figured it will be about another week or so and then hopefully they will send out the letter. Fingers crossed.

And btw, does your daughter also have to attend since she is coming with you? Just a random question out of curiosity sorry lol
