Well everyone, our big envelope arrived with Luke's passport in it. It's delivered by hand in the UK which you have to sign for. Don't worry if you get it scheduled on a day you can't be there, the delivery company has a very easy way to reschedule the delivery date.

You'll get a package with three things in it:

- Your passport, with the Visa on one of the pages. I'd send a picture but I'm not sure what information I'm allowed to show.

- A leaflet explaining the K1 Visa and that you must adjust after 90 days once you're married.

- A large envelope which a picture is attached for you. It states to not pack it and must be hand carried. You must also not open it.

That's it for us now, the flight is on the 3rd May so less than two weeks now!

That is soo exciting!! Congradulations!

Trudie, you were the person with the medical for today! I knew I'd missed someone, but couldn't remember who it was. Hope it all goes smoothly :)

Yes, James had his medical this morning. It for the most part went smoothly. Had to get one more Tetanus shot because the first one listed did not have a complete date. He also was asked to send additional information about a heart condition that he has, even though he brought a report and even though the doctor told him it wasn't a problem that could "fail" him for the exam. So he went to the doctors office on the way home and asked for that to be sent.

They said it would take up to 10 days and would cost another 30 pounds. Hopefully it doesn't take that long but as soon as they get it the doctor said he would forward the results.

Glad to hear it went well. They were actually pretty quick at getting our results sent. We had our medical on a Saturday, results were in by Tuesday morning and the embassy had them by Wednesday so 3 days from medical to the embassy receiving them. When his doctor has sent the necessary paperwork, call Knightsbridge and follow up to make sure it's been sent. It's the only part of the process where there is a number with real humans on the other side where you can actually CALL instead and have a two way conversation.

So we got our case number from NVC today! My Fiancee is going to get her Medical scheduled tomorrow. I have a curious because I know people have been doing steps like the DS-160, medical, etc in different orders. I am just curious if we could complete our DS-160 and our application of readiness now, because according to the guide it says "The order for medical and readiness form are interchangeable. If you have all your documents, you can submit the Notification of Applicant's Readiness before you actually attend the medical."

I know its probably risky as far as timing goes but I am just trying to cut down on the wait times. I don't see why it would cause harm especially since on the readiness form it says "I have scheduled an appointment with Knightsbridge Doctors.
Date of appointment:"

So that implies that they would schedule it to take that date in effect or after that date.

That all depends on you really. I wanted to make sure and wait until it was at the Embassy and showing "ready" before I submitted ours. We went ahead and scheduled our medical then once it showed ready we submitted our ds160 and our readiness form and it has a place to list your medical date. I didn't want to chance them not matching it up before it was there. But the reason you can do that before you actually attend the medical is because on the readiness form there is a spot to list the date of your upcoming medical. So that part is ok, but I wanted to wait until they had it physically there and in their system first. But that's your call. :)

Sending the Readiness before the medical or after is fine. No risk at all. It almost sounds like you think sending it now will speed up your interview. Not so. Once the last thing is received...DS-160, medical results, or readiness, then the clock starts toward getting an interview assigned. The order or date doesn't matter. They key is the date the last one is received.

The risk is any of the three arriving at the embassy before your case file is received from NVC.

A lower risk is waiting for your status to say "ready".

The lowest risk is waiting for a letter from the embassy saying you may begin.

Man London is pretty far out I think :( a girl that had her medical last week just got her interview date and it's not until like may 26th so most likely we are mostly looking at June unless we get lucky :(

Yeah I was hoping for may as well and maybe we will get lucky. But figured it would be June just hope it's the first week and not later.

I think we're just used to disappointment at this point lol ....I try to think logically so that if secret a surprise interview in May it will be unexpected. Somehow that helps me mentally get through this part because its so close to being over!!

Yeah I know what you mean. I try to think logically too but sometimes I can't help it. Cause I want it to move faster. I tried thinking logically about TSC too at the beginning not realizing just how far behind they were. That part of the journey kinda sucked my soul dry lol

You are right I am getting a little to ahead of things. We did go ahead and get the medical scheduled though for April 28th. Was surprised they had an opening so soon but I am not complaining.

Grrrrrr. Now I am so very frustrated with Knightsbridge. James just sent me a picture of his vaccination form and in the MMR spot they wrote "government restrictions". I told him to make sure to check the form, but he was frustrated with the request for additional information and just wanted to go. sooo, now he has to call them back and have them fix it.
