Yes exactly often times when you gripe in others you get some hateful comment back. ? so it's nice to have a place to share and rant. And yes I never ever want to do a goodbye airport trip again. Walking away for either of us is the most painful thing I have ever had to do. And I know that we all have done it multiple times. And for people who have never gone through that they will never understand what that's like. It is awful.

I was just telling my co-worker that the other day. Not many people have to experience the airport scene when you have to let the love of your life go not knowing when you'll see them next. The last time I said goodbye to James at the airport I was crying so hard one of the airport workers came over to make sure I was ok. I never want to through that again. And when people say to me "but it will all be worth it" I go crazy....unless you've gone through that you can't possibly understand how soul wrenching that is

Exactly. I had that happen to me when I went there to see him. The lady at the shop asked if I was ok. One time we went 9 months without seeing each other and we swore we would not do that again. But at the time we had no choice. It was so awful to let go and walk away. And yes no one can understand that feeling. It is heart breaking. Normally he comes here and there is a two hour drive back to my house so that is a long two hours driving through tears. And he doesn't take off until after I'm back home. It's just awful and I'm looking forward to not doing that again. Ever. I don't know how to ever explain that feeling to anyone.

Question...."Packet 3" is considered the D-160 correct?

For the VJ TIMELINE, "received Packet 3" means instruction letter from London arrived.

"Sent packet 3" means you submitted your DS-160 I guess. It used to fit when you mailed off a packet of paper forms, but it's of little use as a time guide now because the last of three submissions kicks off the wait time for interview.

Congrats! Packet 3 from them is the letter saying to complete the ds160, schedule medical, and your readiness form. So packet 3 for us would be doing all of that. Schedule medical, ds160 submitted and readiness form completed. That's my understanding anyways. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Least that's how I did mine. Lol

Well everyone, our big envelope arrived with Luke's passport in it. It's delivered by hand in the UK which you have to sign for. Don't worry if you get it scheduled on a day you can't be there, the delivery company has a very easy way to reschedule the delivery date.

You'll get a package with three things in it:

- Your passport, with the Visa on one of the pages. I'd send a picture but I'm not sure what information I'm allowed to show.

- A leaflet explaining the K1 Visa and that you must adjust after 90 days once you're married.

- A large envelope which a picture is attached for you. It states to not pack it and must be hand carried. You must also not open it.

That's it for us now, the flight is on the 3rd May so less than two weeks now!

They really are!!

Lol. I guess we need to be on the lookout for that.

Trudie, you were the person with the medical for today! I knew I'd missed someone, but couldn't remember who it was. Hope it all goes smoothly :)

Congratulations! You guys have had a long wait for this. Does it feel surreal?

Deborah, yes, goodbye at the airport is a killer. In December we said No More Goodbye! We said the same last month.

Last Summer I was so upset that I was called out from the check in desk for extra questioning. I guess I was more spectacular than I took credit for! We know there are not going to be any more visits now so with us all being on this last section of the journey, at least we know that's something we can forget about.

Slightly off topic, but apologies for my negativity yesterday. For no apparent reason, it was just a bad day. I naively thought that once we got our approval nothing would make me feel down again.

So after this week, all of the regulars on this thread are ready for packet 4? I like this :D
