Hey I meant to ask you, did they ask you for anything from embassy, like a letter or anything?

No, I had to insert our London case reference on the forms, but they didn't ask for any proof of anything. Given that your petition is now at the embassy though, you will probably have your Packet 3 by the time of your medical anyway, and that will suffice if Neil feels better having it with him.

That's fantastic news. One less thing to worry about.

They must like you better than me - I sent them several messages last weekend/early this week and have not so much as had an acknowledgment. There is no way to tell if they even read it as we still don't know if they updated our address, or if it was done at NVC.

Yes I totally agree. I honestly did not anticipate a response at all and just was hoping they would update. So maybe it's all in who read the email that day. I dunno and the not knowing is always hard.

Ok...minor hiccup. So today James was uploading his photo onto the D-160 form. Apparently (and I don't know exactly what happened because I wasn't there to see it) but he uploaded it and clicked "save" and then when he went to retrieve the application it said it had been submitted but he never hit the submit button. I just went on and retrieved the application and it comes up for me still (and on his computer)- the photo isn't in there though so I have no clue what's going on. If I'm able to still retrieve the application though could there have been a glitch and the form actually wasn't submitted? I would think if I can still retrieve the application that it wouldn't have been.....

You can't retrieve the application once it's been submitted. You can only retrieve the confirmation page. This caught me by surprise too. If the photo using uploaded it's not a problem. He just takes a passport style photo to the interview. If the form is incorrect, just complete a new one, don't submit it, and print it to take up the interview. All as per the instructions on their website :)

I don't think he actually submitted it because I can retrieve it and we were able to review it....so I just saved it and we'll submit it next week. I don't know what happened but it seems to still be there. This is why I typically handle the technology aspect of this process

There are around two dozen DS-160 FAQs on the London website http://london.usembassy.gov/ds160_faqs.html Good information to read.

This one indicates that data can remain, even after submitting it if you saved before submitting.

I have made an error in the data entry. Should I correct it/is there anything that I can do to correct this?

If you saved the form as you were completing it to either your hard drive or CD/USB, you can go back and correct any errors that you have made and resubmit the application. If you did not save the data then you will be required to complete a new application.

So I'm ready to submit my DS-160, however I'm making a trip to the USA on 7th May and will be there until 5th June. On the DS-160 you have to put all of your previous trips. Should I hold out on submitting the DS-160 until after my trip, or am I okay to submit it now?

I am planning on submitting my readiness form in mid-may.

Hi Toria,

You can submit it. They won't assign an interview until you send in your Readiness form, so it makes no difference if you submit the DS160 now or at the same time as you are ready to get things moving.

Hi, all

Just stopping in to see what’s happening with everyone. Deborah & Neil, and James & Renee, I know your medicals are coming up this week. I’m sure it will all go smoothly. Then it’s Readiness form and wait for the interview :D

No updates from me, other than I was feeling a bit miserable from Friday last week. I actually feel quite guilty feeling this way knowing how many people have been waiting 200+ days and are still not approved. I think just being in another (albeit short term this time) situation of just not knowing and sitting in a blind wait got a bit much for me. I made an investment in my overall health and wellbeing this weekend by indulging in red wine and chocolate and of course, spent some time with William over the phone as we always do and that helped. This whole journey just feels like it’s been endless and it all got a bit much for me. It's been long. And we're just tired  A silly rant, but if anyone comes back and reads this post in a few days, weeks or even months, at least you will know it’s not just you.

Good morning/afternoon. Yes Medical on Friday, and I did our readiness form last week since we have everything cause you only need have it scheduled. So everything is sorted and DS160 submitted. just medical and the waiting game now. And I too like you am in that same spot, we made a ton of progress but now we are waiting again and the waiting with no updates and not knowing does indeed drive you crazy. I just want to finally see him again. Since it's been 3 months now. We missed Christmas, birthday, and valentines together and so I am ready to just get it finished. And while we should feel guilty, in a way I don't because honestly we put in our time, waited almost 7 months for TSC, hopefully for those after it will be less. But we like you guys are just tired and ready to be together and start our life together. My daughter had a dance competition this weekend so at least I was out of the house and really busy so it kept my mind off of it because at bedtime when I normally dwell on the waiting the most I was too exhausted. Hopefully you will get your interview date soon and medicals for all of us go smoothly. I gave him the information to make sure of what needed each thing to say. So thank you guys for that. And yes a long long journey but to think, the way we look at it is we will have done almost the impossible just to be together. But we've always felt like we are suppose to be together, as I'm sure you guys do too. And while it sucks in the end our relationships will have made it through so much that it makes us all realize we can probably make it through anything together.

Definitely excited for the medical this week! Other than the interview this is the last big thing we have to do....well before AOS lol :) I completely understand how you're feeling....it's so hard at this point because we've all been waiting so long. And, in my opinion, unfairly waiting this long. I think what keeps me semi-sane is just knowing that in a few weeks this will be behind us. And we'll never have to be involuntarily separated again. For me that's been the most stressful aspect of all this....not having any control over being separated from my fiancé. And yes- I know we signed up for this...but I never thought at the beginning that it would take over 7 months for this to happen. I'm glad we can rant in this thread though because I've attempted to "rant" in other threads and always have someone make a snide comment that just sends me over the edge. I think some people forget what the process is like. So it's nice to have this thread so we can all commiserate together :):)

Yes exactly often times when you gripe in others you get some hateful comment back. ? so it's nice to have a place to share and rant. And yes I never ever want to do a goodbye airport trip again. Walking away for either of us is the most painful thing I have ever had to do. And I know that we all have done it multiple times. And for people who have never gone through that they will never understand what that's like. It is awful.
