Yes that is how I would view it now that it's different. I just read it backwards and not thinking about how it is different now than before. More streamlined and online and such. I plan to submit ours this week and then our medical is next week.

Oops, I think my post caused a bit of confusion. I'd meant to state a timeframe between letter of appointment and interview, not medical and interview. That will teach me to post from my phone at work

So, now that we've done everything we can until we hear from the embassy, I'm suddenly feeling a bit frustrated. It's been so nice to have the past few weeks filled with updates and activity and suddenly we are back to waiting again.

The only thing I have left to do is to call up the medical center tomorrow and chase up this updated vaccination sheet, which they haven't sent to me as they promised. After feeling so happy for a few weeks, I suddenly feel frustrated, anxious and irritable.

I assumed that's what you meant by the date. I would Imagine 3-4 weeks after they send us the letter but who knows we could get lucky. And I think we will all feel that way. Been a lot of excitement and updates and then we will come to a stand still again and wait...

It amuses me when I see people telling others who are waiting that this process teaches patience. I have a lot of patience for something I really want, but this has nothing to do with patience - it's plain disorganization and frustration. The irony is that I have so little tolerance for being told to wait for anything now. I was never like this before, or certainly not to this extent. Even at work, I've noticed if someone uses the phrase to include the evil words "wait" or "be patient" I have to make a conscious effort not to react.

Yes I know that feeling. And I get so angry and well meaning people telling me all good things come to those that wait etc.. Etc... When they know nothing what being separated like this and waiting feels like. Or the frustration it is as to why we are waiting.

This thread has become my new Facebook

It's nice to be able to have somewhere to go and rant or be excited and know that it's not going to be misinterpreted. We have such a nice little group here. I'm hoping for some more approvals for all those September filers still waiting so we can get more people to join our party.

The wait between the medical and interview is a bit daunting. But fear not, it will happen, guys! I know, the patience speech-but trust me, I know what you guys are going through. This bit is annoying since there is no actual update via CEAC-you don't receive a little blurb like 'your interview letter is in the mail', etc.

Just a FYI-Despite the DS160 stating his work address as his mailing address, his interview letter was sent to his old flat (which he moved from at the beginning of February). So, Lee-keep that in mind as you have stated you've moved since you began this petition. You might want to send an inquiry to the Embassy if you don't receive your packet 4 in 2 weeks time.

Thanks Chris. We will keep an eye on the calendar. That's a good suggestion.

I think the patience thing became an issue because the expected processing time increased by three months from when we filed to when we were approved and the almost 8 month wait was unbearable. I just want to clarify, to avoid any misinterpretation, that this post is not a comparison or reference to those who filed at CSC. You've been wonderfully helpful and supportive to our new little thread and it's been lovely to have your support and input to help us out as we get started on the London side. And it's all very much appreciated

Oh, our case status was updated today. I presume that means they have received my readiness form :)

I can't imagine that wait-and I am so sorry at the huge disparities. It really breaks my heart.

I'm glad that I could help you guys-just a little bit further yet! Hopefully you'll receive your interview date soon, and you can start the next stage-booking the flight and packing up shop!

The embassy should get your medical results by midweek I would think. :)

It's under "E" for England. Don't worry, I spent a good 15 minutes of my life I'll never get back searching for United Kingdom

Thanks, Chris. Yes, they said that the embassy should have them by Thursday. I'm still wrestling with Knightsbridge to send me copies of corrected DS3025 forms because they left a field blank. It should have been with me by the end of today, but they haven't sent it yet. Obviously I need to know it's correct and complete before it goes to the embassy. Our 3 hour session at Knightsbridge was a bit of a joke, on several levels. I think I'm just irritable and anxious because I want to check it off in my mind as complete and feel like I can't until I see it for myself.

Thank you Wbeem for letting me know of this thread!!!

Our CEAC was last updated April 1st. and says Ready...

We submitted our readiness form March 21st... Still haven't heard anything regarding our interview date...

I did try to call the DOS but they told me their systems were down and to try calling back later. How long does it usually take to hear back with an interview date?

EDIT:: Also just tried to call the Embassy, and Alex, the rep, told me to call the consulate? I cant seem to find the number for that.... Ugh this is driving me crazy, almost a month since we sent our readiness form and still waiting...

Welcome!

There is no longer a phone line for Immigrant Visa inquiries for London Embassy, but I've had good success with other queries by using their contact form under the Immigrant Visa tab on their website. I usually hear back from them within 2-3 days.

I wonder if Easter had an impact on the mail being issued. Good Friday and Easter Monday are both holidays in the UK and the embassy was closed for both so we lost a few working days last weekend. There is also an early May holiday and one at the end of May, just so you can make a note of it.

Did NVC indicate how long their system is going to be down? On another thread someone mentioned that NVC had a note of their interview date before the letter was even received. My only concern would be that you have to present the interview letter when you arrive at the embassy for the interview so I think Packet 4 is worth chasing. Send them a message. You should hear back by the end of the week if you send it now.
