Michael had his K-1 Interview today, and was approved! He said he waited about an hour and a half before he was called in and the lady that interviewed him was super nice. He thinks she may have been new, because her supervisor stood behind her for the whole interview.

So just that he's clear on what he needs to bring with him to his interview next week, here's what we've got:

Himself (obvious one!)

Available fingers for fingerprinting (also obvious!)

Passport (does he also need to bring his really old invalid one?)

Long form birth certificate

Police certificate

I134

employer letter from my sister

tax transcript from my sister

updated letter of intent from me (just in case)

DS160 confirmation

Visa appointment letter

US sized passport photo

visa interview/MRV confirmation

He still wants to bring his I129F and additional evidence to calm his mind.

This should be sufficient. As I told my fiancé...better to be safe and take more...then be sorry and forget something. They asked for minimal things at Scott's interview, support paperwork, police cert, Birth cert, and passport.

This is the correct list. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv_and_k_interview_checklist2014.pdf provided by the embassy. Some people may have things in addition to what yuna's fiance has. And it's difficult to confirm her list without knowing if he was in the military, previously married, has "no live trace" on his police certificate, etc.

In addition to the embassy checklist:

___Appointment letter

___Receipt of fee payment

___DS-160 confirmation

And maybe:

___New letter of intent from USC (only if petition is expired)

___Subject Access Report from ACPO (if police certificate says "no live trace")

Sounds good. I just hate to say "yes, you have everything" assuming one of those less often required things isn't needed. Or for somebody to read your list without seeing the detail of the passport needs to have 8 months validity.

You question about old passports. Their documentation used to say all passports, even expired. They didn't ever seem to require those despite what it said. I don't see mention of that in current documentation.

The visa fee payment. You pay for this online before you go to the interview. It's also where you choose visa collection from a depot or delivery for an extra charge.

You question about old passports. Their documentation used to say all passports, even expired. They didn't ever seem to require those despite what it said. I don't see mention of that in current documentation.

I can't recall where I saw it, though when I got my documents together for my interview I do remember reading somewhere to take all old passports as well as the current version. It's not on the Fiance Visa checklist issued by the Embassy (I just checked), I'm damned if I can remember where I saw it now!

I took all my old passports just in case. They didn't ask to see them, thus can be assumed that they are not needed for K1 interviews.

Decided to request this as pick up from courier back in London, to cut out some risk as they don't read to be very good and I live out in the sticks, the interviewer said two weeks but likely quicker
