True. An above average sense of humor is mandatory to get through this process. But more than that, I keep remembering how awful it was waiting across an ocean every night for my 10 pm to 2 am daily phone calls which became what I lived for. Now I get hugs and kisses every day. We can get through anything now

Our case is now out of Texas and on it's way to NVC. I'm eager to get my fiancé to call up but I know I should probably wait a little bit. How long did ya'll wait before calling?

Have you emailed the embassy through the contact us page and see if they have a status update?

Mine took 10 days, which I thought was quick. When you submit the "Readiness" form it does state "You should allow up to 6 weeks from today's date for the Immigrant Visa Unit to process your application and contact you". You might want to give it a little while longer, or if anxious you can contact them to see if an interview date has been assigned yet.

So just that he's clear on what he needs to bring with him to his interview next week, here's what we've got:

Himself (obvious one!)

Available fingers for fingerprinting (also obvious!)

Passport (does he also need to bring his really old invalid one?)

Long form birth certificate

Police certificate

I134

employer letter from my sister

tax transcript from my sister

updated letter of intent from me (just in case)

DS160 confirmation

Visa appointment letter

US sized passport photo

visa interview/MRV confirmation

He still wants to bring his I129F and additional evidence to calm his mind.

Have we got it all?

Very quick question - on the DS-160 where it asks you for your receipt/application number - is this the original NOA1 receipt number (in my case beginning with SRC as it was processed in Texas) or the case number assigned by the NVC/DoS (in my case beginning with LND)?

I'm guessing the former?

Sorry for the double post (can a mod throw this into my original post too?) one more thing - when putting down my fiancee's name and details for my US contact, do I put the relationship as 'Spouse' or 'Other'. Obviously we're not married yet so she's not technically my spouse yet?

SRC number, but nothing happens to those that get it wrong and put LND number.

I checked YES on mine on the basis that they would be complete for immigration requirements by the time I'd had my medical.

Well I checked no and added an explanation saying they will be by the time I have the interview as I will have done the medical by then. I've had a little search on here and it seems people have been fine with both. I see your logic, though.

At the end of the day, this shouldn't be a puzzle trying to trip you up.

Taking Nich-Nick's advice of using my brain and following the logic: 1. The DS-160 is the first thing the instructions tell you to do. 2. At this point in time I can't answer 'yes' to having the official vaccination documentation as I haven't, but I will be able to say 'yes' come the interview as they will fill this out at the medical.

In any case, you don't even need to have my vaccinations up to date for K1 entry anyway, only for AoS, so I can't see it being a problem (he says!)
