It is!!! We are panicked and don't know where to turn. I've made dozens of calls, no one will help, we've emailed several places with no response as of yet.

How about contacting the UK Embassy in the USA?

How about contacting the UK Embassy in the USA?

We did, they can't help us. They told us to contact us border patrol. You have to leave a message there. No one has called back. I thought you only needed a passport/visa to get a SSN card

That's ridiculous of them. Your other half is currently a non immigrant in the USA with a UK passport, therefore he is technically still a UK subject until he marries and files for AOS. The UK Embassy, in my opinion, should step in and get things sorted. I feel that they are passing the buck...

Unfortunately this would not be an embassy problem.. this is a CBP problem for sure. Though I'm not sure how to solve this one. :/ CBP is going to have to assist somehow, as it would be impossible for him to return and fix it himself. Nich-Nick might have some insight.

We married this past Saturday, but you are right. For whatever reason, we've had the worst luck With this process. I feel like everyone keeps passing blame and no one will help.

Did you contact your closest Deferred Inspection location? A non-airport location is better. Make an appointment if it isn't too far. List http://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/deferred_inspection_sites_072115_1.xls

Also, are you getting anything like his name or simply nothing when you put in his passport number? Wondering if you used letter O for Zero or One for letter i Any mistakes like that?

Does anything look unusual on the biographic part of the passport?

I know another lady on here just thought they hadn't given her fiancé an I94 or put him in the database, turns out they did, they just had input the wrong number. CBP helped her with that situation on the phone.

I know, the borders officer took Scott's passport, saw the date stamp, visa, etc. showed her the marriage cert, etc. still couldn't help us. She couldn't say why, other then "it's too late in the day." What?!?!! It was 3:00

Yes, but they probably need to contact someone at Immigratipn at Dublin airport and it would have been 8 pm there. Are they going to check for you tomorrow?

They said to come back tomorrow and then try again. It's so frustrating. Sadly she didn't have much personality.
