I'm feeling really left out  no news of when my interview will be scheduled. I don't wanna wait anymore, i would like to plan my overseas trip asap :clock:

Are you an April 2015 filer? I don't see you in the list. Did you make a service request? An Infopass appointment? Called to speak with a tier-2 officer?

If it's been a year or more, you should reach out to your congressman and/or the USCIS Ombudsman. In addition, you should read about and consider filing a Writ of Mandamus, which is a lawsuit to compel USCIS to adjudicate your case.

Good luck.

So yesterday I called USCIS since I have not heard anything about my Oath yet. It has only been 2 weeks since the interview (over 10 months since NOA) and I was recommended for approval, but my rush on this is my oldest child will soon age out, end of March he will be 18, so if this keeps taking so long he will not derive citizenship through me. I received a notice today in regards to my expedite request and it said my case is now under expedited review and I should hear something about my N400 within 45 days from the date of the letter :bonk: I am so confused, not sure if that means my request was approved, or if I have to up to 45 days to be told if it was approved or denied. Can't understand why it would take 45 days for a response since the request was made on behalf of my son aging out in less then 45 days. I'm just frustrated and needed to vent. Hopefully anyone with experience in this can chime in and offer some knowledge.

Thanks you guys. I appreciate the kind words of support.

My case update so far: I have reached out to just about every official channel possible, and gotten email responses from the Director of my field office with some mixed messages. The bottom line is, I'm stuck in background checks and until those are done, no interview and no further movement that's visible to me anyways.

So, after discussing with my lawyer, we've decided to seek the help of Court. I'm supposed to meet with him next week to give him all the documents of efforts made (infopass, senator inquiries/responses, phone call dates/times, email correspondence from/to USCIS and Ombudsman's office, etc.) and we'll file a Writ of Mandamus because the case is excessively delayed. Here's to hoping that the filing action brings about a wrap up of prolonged checks and I get an interview date, and then we play the waiting game of 120 days again (hopefully not!).

Good luck! As someone who is being held up and hung in the process for so long, I really find the system really sick.

They don't give you a timeframe, no estimate, so status bar. Pushing all the responsibilities into the so-called background check but not offering an explanation on what exactly is needed to be checked so long. It is just really disappointing. And the official channel of self-help simply puts you in a series of wait game one after another.

Please excuse all my gripes but I definitely feel you. Now back into another waiting game of oath myself, so I can totally feel it. Will pray for you to get it through soon at the same time!! Good luck!

Just to update everyone, came home today to a pleasant voicemail from USCIS. My expedite was approved due to my son aging out soon and she scheduled me for this Friday, March 11th at 11am. So excited and happy that all of this is finally almost over. Thank you to everyone, absolutely loved being apart of this thread and wish everyone still waiting, some good news soon. I will be back to share my Oath experience and I will keep watching this thread on everyone else's progress.

Thank you very much. How close until my son turns 18? He will be 18 on the 28th of March. It got closer then I wanted, but I am glad they did it for me and I told the officer I was so so very grateful she did.

Well you can tell him that 17 is his lucky number!

He got crossed the finish-line with only 17 days to spare.

I know he would have made it eventually, but you saved him a lot of time and stress.

I assume you got your actual oath letter with the questionnaire on the back. Congratulations again.

Oh it is absolutely his lucky number now, I think this will be a birthday he will never forget, definitely a hard gift to beat.

And yes, the officer I spoke to emailed me my Oath letter and form to print and fill out, shortly after I spoke with her. I got it all filled out and in my purse with everything else, I am guarding it with my life, I am ready and counting down the hours :dancing:

Such a relief. USCIS shows some humanity here.

Good luck on Friday. This will be a week to remember for your family. Congratulations
