Any way to find out the date of interview (without having to wait for the mail) once the online status changes to "interview was scheduled"?

Yep! Call USCIS and request to speak to a 2nd level agent who should be able to tell you the date, time and location of your interview!

I am in the same waiting/frustrating/anxious situation like you. My field office is Newark . FB done on 5/11. Not a word after that :). In this age of technology, background check takes 4 months, ridiculous.

done with everything today :) so happy

oath ceremony was scheduled for 10:00

the ceremony was done in 45 min

the good part was that there was a USPS booth for people to submit passport application

i planned for that and had everything ready a day before

submitted the passport application there itself ( expedite )

no documents were asked

only the green card was taken

Picture ( mine was rejected as it was dark.. I took it from sams club, luckily the usps booth had a photo station so I took one there)

Naturalization certificate orginal

Money

They didn't took my id copy but it is required to bring a photo ID and copy

I am in the same waiting/frustrating/anxious situation like you. My field office is Newark . FB done on 5/11. Not a word after that :). In this age of technology, background check takes 4 months, ridiculous.

Houston is probably much worse. I actually called USCIS and was told my FBI background check was done in less than a week (a day, actually). What is the hold up? Who knows. May be the record hot weather in the Southwest, spicy TexMex food, who knows.

They're now processing cases from Sept. 2014, fully 7 months before my priority date. And I've been waiting for nearly five months already. But to be honest, it doesn't really matter. This process has been years in the making so waiting is something at which I'm an expert.

It'll be done when it's done. Congrats to all those who are done or close to being done.

Congrats Sanil, were you required to show a proof of travel because you wanted it expedited?

Did they tell you how long it will take for the passport to arrive in the mail?

they just wanted a tentative date of departure and date of coming back

also the country going to

i have plans to go in october but haven't decided on when

so i just put it oct 15 to nov 15

they were fine with that

the process of accepting the passport application was really fast and easy

hardly takes 5 min if you have everything

they said ill get the passport in two weeks , the naturalization certificate will take longer

i made sure to take to scan the certificate( from my phone ) before giving them for my record
