I have a question. I just have my interview 2 days ago. We're going to Canada for labor day weekend on September 3rd. If I get my oath ceremony scheduled before September 3rd, should I reschedule it again? I think I have to surrender my GC at the oath ceremony, and I need it to travel. How can I reschedule an oath ceremony? Thank you for your help. :)

till last week i was scheduled for my second interview on aug 31st

today i check my status it says oath ceremony notice was mailed :)

i cannot believe this :)

cannot wait for the letter now :)

no more second interview :)

May be the officer that got your file for 2nd interview can see that there is nothing to be reviewed and just got you approved! :)

it says

"Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by September 4, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy

so i should assume that my oath will be after september 4 right ?

Wow. Thanks so much for the info.

Now after I followed your step, it just says

At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later.

really frustrating.

If it is just that I have to wait longer, but with a definite timeframe, I won't be as nervous.

But it is just there is a huge uncertainty there that really bugs me.

Plus there has been once that USCIS forgot or lost a file of my family member when she applied for re-entry permit, that we found out and had the FP done again only after we called them. I am just a little worried that my case is in fact being neglected but nobody realize it yet.

Is there anyone else in the NYC office also only have your FP done but nothing further? Just want to know if there are also likewise cases out there or am I the only one...

I am not in the NYC field office, I actually have Philadelphia office, however, I understand your frustration, I had my fp's done in the first week of May and have not heard anything since. Meanwhile almost everyone from the same field office who applied around the same time and a month after have already had an interview or has an interview date. I plan on calling in again on Monday and try to speak to a tier 2 officer if possible, if able.

got the mail today about oath after the status was changed yesterday from second interview to oath

After the USCIS update, it just took about 3 days to get the actual letter, and the oath itself was just 10 days after the interview.

Regarding friends/family, they did not have any limit (in fact the IO told me "you can invite all your friends", but the actual hall where the ceremony took place is not very big (we were 107 new citizens plus friends/family and it was pretty much fullI want

I wanted to ask if you were offered the opportunity to apply for the U.S. passport after the Oath ceremony at the USCIS field office ?

I am thinking ahead and trying to bring along the passport requirements to the Oath ceremony event.
