So after waiting for such a while after my FP in May and hearing nothing since, I called USCIS again today, and they told me I could go to my local office (in my case NYC) and inquire the progress.

I am not sure if I heard it wrong, but is it correct that I can actually go to the office and ask about the progress of my case? And should I do it? Or should I not?

Just very worried seeing so many (almost all in NYC offices on the ticker) have completed interviews, and I haven't even received in-line notice after May. Anyone stuck in the same situation?

Make an InfoPass appointment, and definitely go in person. I also called the hotline last week, and got to talk to Tier 2. But the information I got wasn't satisfactory, so I scheduled an infopass. Now after I followed your step, it just says

At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later.

really frustrating.

If it is just that I have to wait longer, but with a definite timeframe, I won't be as nervous.

But it is just there is a huge uncertainty there that really bugs me.

Plus there has been once that USCIS forgot or lost a file of my family member when she applied for re-entry permit, that we found out and had the FP done again only after we called them. I am just a little worried that my case is in fact being neglected but nobody realize it yet.

Is there anyone else in the NYC office also only have your FP done but nothing further? Just want to know if there are also likewise cases out there or am I the only one...

I intend to ask you how many days it took to receive your Oath letter in the mailbox after you got the buzz from USCIS that it was scheduled and mailed?

More so, how many family/friends per applicants did they allow into the hall/room for the Oath Ceremony ?

I have around 6-8 fam/friends to accompany me on my day.

After the USCIS update, it just took about 3 days to get the actual letter, and the oath itself was just 10 days after the interview.

Regarding friends/family, they did not have any limit (in fact the IO told me "you can invite all your friends", but the actual hall where the ceremony took place is not very big (we were 107 new citizens plus friends/family and it was pretty much full)

After a long time replying in this thread.

Today I had interview in Detroit USCIS office. Here is my experience:

My interview was at 8.25 a.m. i reached 5 mins before. Around 8.35 one nice lady called me in for interview. She asked me 6 questions and I answered those correctly.

1. What are the rules of law?

2. Which Ocean in west coast?

3. What is the legal age to vote

4. What happened in September 9th, 2001.

I forgot the last two questions :D

then she asked to read a sentence and wrote one as well, which I did. After that she quickly go over my N-400 application and all the Yes/No Questions. Then she told me Congratulation you passed your test and you can take the Oath tomorrow which is August 6th, 2015. Then she told me to wait for 15 mins to get the Oath letter. I got the letter after an hour. The whole interview was 15 mins.

So, I guess this the end of the citizenship journey. Thanks all for supporting and providing all kind of information. Also thanks a lot to Kash to maintain this tread up to dated. Congratulation to whom who already become citizen and good luck for all who is waiting for the interview.

Made it to Norfolk USCIS office. Survived the interview conducted by a very personable officer. Received a piece of paper with congratulations! your application is recommended for approval. So can some nice person update this list. Now all I have to do is wait for the online status to update and wait for my Oath letter.

So can some nice person update this list. Now all I have to do is wait for the online status to update and wait for my Oath letter.

After the USCIS update, it just took about 3 days to get the actual letter, and the oath itself was just 10 days after the interview.

Regarding friends/family, they did not have any limit (in fact the IO told me "you can invite all your friends", but the actual hall where the ceremony took place is not very big (we were 107 new citizens plus friends/family and it was pretty much full)

Day 0 - 03/31/2012 - Package (concurrent I-{130/AOS/AP/EAD} ) sent to Chicago with USPS
Day 1 - 04/02/2012 - Delivered!!!
Day 5 - 04/06/2012 - "Acceptance confirmation received for entire forms & routed to NBC" was sent via email.
Day 10 - 04/11/2012 - NOA for I-{130/AOS/AP/EAD} Received.
Day 15 - 04/16/2012 - NOA for Biometrics appointment Received. {Scheduled for 05/08/12}
Day 37 - 05/08/2012 - Biometrics app completed.
Day 44 - 05/15/2012 - Interview date schedule @ Dallas/Irving TX..
Day 54 - 05/25/2012 - EAD/AP production Notification.
Day 75 - 06/15/2012 - Interview'd with NO approval. 1 hr Post-interview: Received I-485/Card production email.
Day 78 - 06/18/2012 - 2nd emails {I-485/Decision/Register PR and I-130/Post-Decision} Received.
Day 81 - 06/21/2012 - Received {email of Card mailed out} and 2 Hardcopies {I-485 & I-131 approval}
Day 83 - 06/23/2012 - GC touched down. 10x Mailman.
