I passed the civics and English test but the results say "a decision cannot yet be made about your application". From what I understood, it is because I have applied for naturalization under 319(b) of the INA. The officer said that my naturalization cannot take place for more than 45 days prior to our departure (husband is in the military and we'll be overseas for 3 years). So, I was told that the earliest date I could be a citizen is on July 20. But yeah, I'm still quite upset.

Jupeto,

I feel your spirit in respect to your delayed naturalization. 07/20 is 10 days(today is almost over) away.

Congratulations btw.

Thank you. But I'm still not sure if I really did pass the whole interview. Though the officer said that if ever, oath taking would either be on the 27th or 29th.

Received an email today. They placed me in line for my oath ceremony and will send me a notice with the date, time and location of my oath ceremony. Very very excited to have gotten to this level. It's a great feeling indeed. Thank Heavens. Wish the very best for those who are headed this way.

I will give more details;

pretty much she went over everything on the form., she didn't ask for any documents.

A funny thing to mention, she asked me for my GC, Passport, and ID. I gave her the first 2, then I couldn't find my wallet , so I told her I think I left my wallet with my wife at the waiting Area, can I go to bring it, she said no need I have your GC.

I already submitted some proof with application, applying based on 3 years rule. She asked if I registered for selective service, I answered yes[ I already sent a letter of registration with the application]

She also asked if I took any trips outside the USA,I have had 4 trips, so I told her yes. I asked here if I did the right thing by listing the 2 trips to Canada because they were less than 24 hours, she said that's fine [ then, she said we already checked your travel records]. Then we went over the traffic citations, she asked if I paid the fine, I told her I did, I offered a proof , but she told me that she doesn't need them.

She asked me what major I did in school, and if it was Bsc or Master. I told her it was a Bsc but we chatted a bit about my plan to go for a grad school as a part time in the future.

She asked also If i filed my 2014 taxes, I told her yes, she then asked if I did it jointly with my wife I said yes[ I already sent the transcripts with the application]

The test was even easier [ she started with the application then went to the test]

questions:

1- which group of people were brought as slaves ?

2- The highest court in the country.

3- Name of the vice president.

4- How many amendments the constitutions has ?

5- Why colonists fought the British.

6- Who makes laws.

Reading: Who can vote

writing : citizens can vote.

Then she told me congratulation I am recommending your case for approval, she printed the interview result paper, and she marked the box that say 'recommended for approval' and I 'passed the test'. Then, She printed another paper with my information on it, she asked me to verify everything is correct, she told me the info on this paper will be the same as your certificate , then she asked me to sign it. I also signed 2 places on the application and my 2 pictures.

That was pretty much everything.

I brought tons of papers, but she didn't ask for anything, I always like to be extra prepared.

Firstly, Congrats! I hope you get your Oath soon. :)

Secondly, traffic violation. Did you list it on the application, or you volunteered the info, or she knew about it and asked?

Thanks i wish you all the best.

I listed the traffic citations on the form itself. I brought evidence of payments with me just in case if they asked for it.

Completed interview today. Was asked only 4 civic Qs, one sentence to read & write. Officer went over the application and recommended for approval. Said it could be 4 to 6 weeks to get oath letter. Was there for 2.5 hours because of long wait.
