Easier said than done, since I'm traveling to Colorado on Sept 30, really hope it's on September 23rd, like you said. That's really why i can't keep calm. I can't get my money back from the airfare if i do miss my flight.

Finally heard back from my US senator's office today, going to be faxing out my privacy release form today and hoping really, really bad that I will hear something from Immigration

I did the same last week. It's processing now, hope to hear back soon. Wouldn't mind hearing back from USCIS before the senator's office instead! *we can hope....* lol

I am sorry but what is the senator thing? Is that something that might help with the process and something I should do, too?

Haven't heard anything either.

I actually went to infopass last week, in case anyone wonders.

The officer was nicer and calmer than I expected (which wass a good thing at least), but he told me my case has not arrived in NYC field office yet. :shocked:

Now I really wonder what happened? I thought most people's cases were delayed because local field office are cramped and they need time to process them. But according to my officer, my case was not there yet, which should imply it might take even longer? I asked so but he didn't reply. He just said he can send a note to the processing center for my case if I don't hear anything by November.

When I mentioned that there are quite a few people who applied after me but also got placed for interview, he just told me "they were just lying to me" and dismiss my case.

Well overall it wasn't a bad experience. At least the officer was not as rude nor mean as I expected.

But the only things I have learned is that 1) my case is still nowhere, and 2) people here on visajourney are lying (according to him).

I just hope he actually did see something and did help me pick up the case, but just didn't tell me so.

From what I have read on VJ a lot of people whose cases got stuck in a limbo have had some luck after writing to their senator and congressman, apparently it makes them get their butts moving. I am not sure either way, but at 5 months into this I am ready to start trying anything to get some kind of information on my case, because I was told a timeline of 5 months from immigration for my field office. Sorry your infopass appt wasn't much of a success and yes, look up your local senator and give it a shot, it's free, you have nothing to lose

Wow, that sounds exactly like my infopass. "We don't have your case yet. It's still with NBC. They didn't transfer it to our jurisdiction. Just wait...." And wouldn't answer if security checks are done. I'm guessing that we're still in name check stage, otherwise would've been in-line. But could be something else. Hard to say. The website processing times dont exactly help in my case either because they went from 5 months a month ago, back to January 23rd. Which I know can't be true because others filed much later already interviewed or got reddened.

Do what MiaPA suggested, look up your state senator, their website has a link for Assistance with Federal Agency/Immigration. They can contact uscis on your behalf and maybe get specifics on what exactly is happening (name check, missing something, etc. etc.)

Thank you KASH2011 and everybody else for your help. The ceremony was beautiful. I sent the paperwork to get my US passport which is going to take around 4 weeks. It was a long process and it's done! :dance: :thumbs: :rolleyes:

Hi everyone! I was also getting worried about my interview but they sent me an email stating that they have scheduled my interview and wait for the notice in the mail. It should be here next week and I'll have it updated by then. So hopefully everybody else is on the way for their interview for those who are waiting...

Good to hear good news for you! I just checked another website in my native language and realize someone in California applied in June has done his interview last week. I am just so jealous. :cry2:

Keep my fingers crossed and hope I would get mine very very soon, too!!!
