Congratulations!!!

My interview was today, waited for about 15 minutes, and was called in. Really nice guy, we went over my application and then we did the test. The questions were: What is the Supreme Law of the Land? Which countries did the US fought in WW2? Who vetoes laws? What is the capital of your state? What did the Declaration of Inependence did? Who is the father of our nation? The interview lasted around 15 minutes and I was recommended for aproval :joy: I was told to wait in the waiting area for my Oath Letter, the same day! So they called me like 45 minutes later and I'm scheduled to Oath on JULY 24th!!

Congratulations on your approval.

Hello Everyone!

I have been following this forum for a while, but never commented. It has been helpful and as a way of saying thank you, I'd like to share my story to help others!

I filed the application under the 3 year rule, and my journey started when I sent my N400 package on April 18th, 2015, I sent it a month before my 3rd year green card anniversary. They received it and the priority date was April 21. I had my fingerprints done a month later, on May 18th. A week later they sent me a notification saying that I was in line for an interview. On June 5th they scheduled my interview. And my interview was today July 13th in Boston.

I had my husband come with me for support, since I was a bit nervous. My appoint was at 2:15 and we arrived at 2pm. I waited about 20 mins,(in which during that time they called 4 people in) and this really young woman officer called me in. The officer was extremely nice! She wasn't much older than 30. Anyway, as we walked in she asked if I had all the docs with me, passport and green card, and drivers license. We got to her office and asked me if I preferred to do the civics test first, or go through the application. I was puzzled, why was she being so nice! haha when everyone is always complaining about having a bad experience! I chose to go through the app first. and then we moved on to the test. She had me write "The white house is in Washington D.C" and to read a sentence that I can't remember. After that she went to ask me the 10 questions. I forgot all of them, but she did ask what was the capital of my state? (super easy!) who is the executive branch?!!!! and omg I don't remember the other ones but since I answered all the first 6 questions, she Congratulated me on passing the test! After that she asked me if there were any documents that I wanted to submit, and again I was confused, because I thought they were going have me show them the originals of the marriage certificate, or my husband's birth certificate, and she said that she didn't need anything, because she already had them! She did not ask me for a proof of residency or marital union. I was happy! Although I did prepare for this, I brought a giant folder with all the documents we have together, w2s, tax returns, tax transcripts, car loan, bank accounts,lets.... So that was it! took less than 15 mins! She told me I was going to receive a notification in the mail as to when my oath was going to be and to bring my green card for surrender. YAY!!!!!!!!

So if your interview is coming up, please don't be nervous, just study the civics questions and you should be all set!

Congrats!!!

Just received text & email saying "We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony." Does it mean they have now actually scheduled a date for my oath and have mailed a notice?

You gonna be in a high risk of denial if you go to the interview and you owe taxes to the government without an installment agreement with the IRS. I would fix the tax issue before the interview. Paying taxes and complying with the Tax law is part of the good moral character per uscis manual.

Thank you DC85. You're absolutely right. I'm working on it right now through a tax software ( TaxAct) which will eventually end up with a form I can print. Do you think having the printed tax return and the bank statement showing that I paid the amount enough to prove that I'm good with the IRS? or do I need to have the tax returns sent to me from the IRS?

I think it's enough, since it shows that you paid off your dues.

Does it really take 120 days before you can hear anything regarding the decision for an interview? I got interviewed july 8 and results say, "a decision cannot yet be made on your application". I filed under 319b rule.

Oh and I just checked my case status on uscis.gov and the last updated date shows as 07/13/2015...so I guess that is my "in line for interview" date? That is the only other update date I have, besides the date previously displayed which was the day after biometrics....
